A little off topic, but I came across this. It seems to be a collection of Sega Visions Magazine dated from june/July 1990 - 1995. It may have Sonic 1 beta pics in it, but I am unsure...

You may want to think twice about buying it :v:

I'm giving this thing the benefit of the doubt myself; it's probably fake, but I can't quite tell 100%. The physics and the collision showcased don't look that much off to me, it's not entirely impossible they could come from an early build imo.

I suppose it can't hurt if I add this here (see below). It has to be something that only happens with a very specific setting, because very few people seem to have seen it so far, but for the life of me I can't figure out what's causing it, and I've tried virtually everything. I've heard of HTC Desire owners running it at full speed though, so I guess it has to be possible to run it normally somehow. It's pretty frustrating anyway :/

Is anyone else experiencing "slowness" on the Android version? I managed to download it but it won't run at full speed in my phone, feels like a slow motion version at 30-40 fps. For the record I have an HTC Desire (Froyo, stock rom, rooted & soff); I realize the phone is old, but I would think its 1GHz cpu should be more than enough to run the game fluently... it seems like I'm not alone but no signs of a way to fix it yet.

(Gave it a 5 star review on the android market anyway, but it would be great to find a solution)

My HTC Incredible was experiencing some slow performance but that went away once I used a task manager to kill some background applications and clear some memory. The game ran smooth after that. Give that a try.

Already tried to kill every single app and service I could, but it didn't seem to make any difference... thanks for the tip though!

I tried with the same model of phone and it's slow on it too, seems like the Adreno 200 GPU can't handle the game at the WVGA resolution it has. At least it runs without graphic errors, because I found that phones with the same GPU but worse CPU (the MSM7227, 600Mhz) show black squares (but runs faster with a lower screen resolution!).

    (pic)

But that's a bit odd, because I've never seen any other game or app lag at all in this phone, even emulators run at a fluid 60 fps. I would assume I would have seen this artifact before if it were simply that the GPU can't handle it...

Would love to hear The Taxman thoughts on this, but I guess he is completely overwhelmed by the number of posts and messages by now :/

Or perhaps the "bug fix" was actually a bug introduced accidentally v.png
