  1. In Topic: Some DAC sample rips right out of ROMs

I just noticed that in the ristar dac rips, dac27 ("Hit It!") sounds very similar to this sound from Stardust Speedway Present from Sonic Cd Jap/Eur. Just something I noticed.

Here is the (broken) link to the post that I was talking about that had a zip with Sonic OPMS
The link is broken? Really? It seems to work fine, for me. I'll upload it somewhere else, then.
Also, I can try and see if I can convert the Sonic 2 voices to TFI format. (No guarantees, though... psyduck.png )

Actually, the link to the zip folder was not broken (thanks for posting it), the link to get to the topic that had the link was outdated.
EDIT: The link to the topic is back up! Sorry, I didn't know. When I tried to open it a few days ago, it didn't work.

Ok I downloaded VOPMXTFI and it doesn't seem to work. I tried dragging the file onto the program, I tried running the program with the TFI file in the folder... nothing. It is a command line/ms dos program that just opens and closes so fast I don't get a chance to see what it says. Could it be because I use windows XP?

Run it from the command line interpreter. It's a Win32 command line program (those exist).

And glad to hear you like TFM. The help documentation is in English; you just have to choose to read that part. And if you don't need VOPM, I could give you the UVB in TFI format.

Well I still need OPMS, because my original plan was to do composing in FL studio using VOPM, and 2 soundfonts I made: one is for the PSG square wave, and one is for the PSG Noise and DAC samples (the soundfont with PSG noise and DAC samples compiles samples from Sonic 1, 2, and 3). I would use TFM Music Maker, but the fact that it only supports the YM2612 chip and not PSG and DAC samples prevents me from doing so. I tried recording the 3 separately and trying to synchronize the files, but it didn't work out that well.

Also, I was using version 1.0 of TFM when I said that there were no English instructions. TFM 1.0 has no instructions in English, but I downloaded TFM 1.4 today which has English instructions like you said.

EDIT: I STILL can't get it to work. I put in this:
    CODE
    D:\>VOPMXTFI\VOPMXTFI.EXE D:\VOPMXTFI\OUTPUT.OPM D:\VOPMXTFI\CHANGE1.TFI

    And I got this message:
    CODE
OK: 0 instruments were converted successfully

EDIT: I'm having lots of fun with TFM music maker. I made a recreation of the GHZ theme (minus DAC samples and PSG square wave sounds and noise) from Sonic 1, and am putting in a song I composed myself. Since I have some experience with Famitracker, I learned most of the program fairly quickly, but I had to look up english directions because the help documentation was in Russian.

I did that but theres no option for OPM files. I did save as a TFE file and used in TFM music maker, but I'm having trouble using it because the instructions are not in english. I'm looking up instructions at this very moment. Also, thanks for the OPM conversion. Do you want me to credit you if I use the music in a game or something?
