    07 January 2010 - 06:27 PM

Fact: this topic convinced me to dig out my PC version of Sonic CD and download the XP/Vista functionality patch. I just played through the game for the first time in about 7 years. Now I just have to get the good ending so that I can wave goodbye to Little Planet and prevent it from being sad.

First TV Tropes, and now 4chan memes?
I have no clue what the fuck yer talking about there, Mister. I have never even BEEN to that site, much less am I familiar with their memes. psyduck.png Anyone care to enlighten me on that one?

You don't need to get so butthurt over that, y'know, Mr. Tweaker?

The term "butthurt" was basically invented by 4chan for trolling purposes.

Also, I advise you to quit calling people "mister" as it comes off as pompous and condescending.

QUOTE (Herm the Germ @ Jan 7 2010, 03:18 PM)
Well, sheesh, I was merely making the point that this fanbase is indeed unpleasable and Retro is just about the best place to prove that.

You don't need to get so butthurt over that, y'know, Mr. Tweaker? Fan-expression never was a bad thing. You guys make it out to be that, however, for various reasons that are not entirely comprehensible to me. So what, it's not a high budget thing, who cares? Oh, right, you do, apparently.

Sheesh. Can't people here EVER get along? … orite.

I think what Tweaker is (understandably) flipping about is the fact that, by linking to an article about "unpleaseable" fanbases (which was pretentious), you're implying that we SHOULD be pleased by this fan film. Which, as Tweaker and Blanche explained, is undebatably shit. "It's not high budget" isn't an excuse. The fact is, the very CONCEPT is ridiculous and unenjoyable - no amount of money would make it better.

This man makes sense. You should listen to him.

You know what would make me happiest? Graphics, music, level design, those are all important, but what I want the most is the old-school Sonic physics. I want to press down and gain momentum as I roll down a hill, and I want to try to accelerate to my top speed before going through a loop instead of automagically speeding up as my feet touch the start of the incline. What makes a Sonic game classic in my mind isn't the way it looks; it's the way it moves.

I'd just like to stop back in for a moment to say FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

No, I mean, really, guys. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

I can't even really think what to say, anymore. It's just... what the hell, guys? This isn't the game I always stopped to play at the department store displays when I was five.
