SEGA games with Redbook Audio Soundtracks
25 August 2014 - 04:40 PM
Just though it might be cool to have a topic for this.
I think it was a cool idea, and it is kind of a shame they stopped doing this, although I see why, since it essnetially means you have the soundtrack on the game disc and they therefore do not make as much money from selling the music separately.
Anyway, I have a few Saturn and Mega CD games that all have this audio format.
So as a result this means I have been able to gain a fair few soundtracks for my music collection from the games themselves
/>
Just wondered though, is there a resource for getting the correct naming conventions for the tracks? As some are perfect but some all just come up as Track 1, Track, Track 3 etc, whilst others are just named incorrectly (Daytona Circuit Edition).
If this already has a topic, feel free to trash or whatever. -
Sonic Blast (LCD game)
07 June 2014 - 09:52 AM
So I saw a listing for the above titled game, still sealed in its packaging, purchased it and it arrived this morning.
Took a few photos of it, then opened it!
Unfortunately it had some old batteries in and they had long since leaked, my first course of action was getting these out. Unfortunately due to the age of the device and the plastic being quite flimsy/brittle, I broke the pop out spring mechanism when figuring that out. Anyway I got the batteries out and bought new ones, put them in and yayyyyy it works!

I will sort more pictures and post here as soon as I can. May even try and record gameplay if I can play it properly.
I have wiki'd it (images still pending)...

If someone could please link it to the LCD subsection etc. that would be greatly appreciated. -
Regarding...SEGA Smash Pack 2 (PC)
04 June 2014 - 07:06 PM
Hey have any US retro members got this game? If so could any of you perhaps post pictures of the disc & booklet/inlay please?
Just wanna see more detail than what currently seems to be available.
Purchased a copy from ebay and wanna compare it to others just for piece of mind that it is a legitimate one
Thanks -
Mega Play related Info Request.

Can anyone source any pictures for me of cartridges that have been opened.
One of the 3 that I acquired recently (I already had 1 cart prior to getting these) has been opened as the label on the back is missing...
...I opened this to reassure myself of the cart being official. However, when searching the 'net, I can't find any images of the PCB from inside a Mega Play cart (plenty of Mega-Tech ones but no Mega Play).
Can anyone help me by directing me to some pictures of a Mega Play cart's inside PCB, so that I can compare it.
The reason I am interested is because my first cart that I got, has a different coloured board to the 3 I got more recently (can tell from the edge connectors). Also the 1 that has been opened (which came as 1 of the 3) has only Eeproms inside...
...I'm thinking there should maybe be a Mask Rom.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
(P.S. The one picture on google is blurry, plus I'd like to see multiple images for comparison.) -
Question regarding Street of Rage 1, 2and 3 on iOS...
10 August 2013 - 08:55 AM
Ok I got these yesterday, and I read on a much older thread somewhere that you can play the Bare Knuckle versions of these games on the iOS versions...
Can anyone advise me on how to do this? There is no clear option in the menus or anything.
...I didn't want to post in the old thread as it is around 2 years old and has long been inactive, so I just thought I would post my question separately, hope that is okay.
EDIT: now found out how to do this...
...you change the language of the iDevice to Japanese.
