  1. Sega bringing Miku on PS3 to the west?

This just popped up on Sega's Facebook. Hmm..

Now if this can happen how about Yakuza 5 too please? :)
  2. At@Games Japanese style Cartridge

Just spotted this in a Argos leaflet. It's that mini mega drive console-on-a-chip system again with the crappy sound emulation, only instead of building games into the system itself it has a separate cartridge with 40 games on (judging by the artwork mostly those original games they slap on the end of all of them) which is shaped like a Japanese cart. I wonder if this cart would work on a normal Mega Drive or do these games have code that only works for the At@Games systems? Have these games ever been dumped? Sure would like to play Mr. Balls on my actual Mega Drive, maybe they have better music hahaha.
  3. Sega Saturn Cleaning Kit Video

    23 February 2012 - 06:08 AM

I knewSega Retro had an article about this, but never seen a video of it before. Has some unusual animation of Sonic and tails and I'm not sure who the voice is supposed to belong to out of both of themm looks like the bubbles are pointing to Sonic but I'm sure they probably didn't care either way. If this has been seen here before apologies, couldn't find any posts about it. I presume this is pretty rare?

    It's my show time!
  4. How/where to go about getting a GBA game rom dumped?

    02 August 2011 - 08:24 AM

So my girlfriend is a big Rayman fan and for a laugh picked up this Rayman bootleg game for the GBA a little while back. here is some gameplay footage we recorded of it from a game boy player.

As far as we know no ROM dump of this exists and because she also admins for a Rayman community and wiki she would really like to get it dumped. Where and who (preferably in the UK) could help out out? No idea how this kind of thing works so would love to get some advice on how to go about this. Ta!
  5. Rare Sega promo Videos

    27 July 2011 - 05:59 AM

So seems appropriate for there to be a thread here for links to unusual Sega promo videos here, kind of like the rare Sonic art trend, sorry if there already was one.

I've been working on backing up any adverts and promo videos I see on Youtube, just started really. Found some interesting ones just today:

Japanese Dynamite Headdy commercial. I love when they do these clay animations for ads.

Sega Video Magazine Volume 8(?) Part one and Part two
Has some interesting little animations (done on a computer by the looks of it) of Sonic based on the old concept art, as well as I think early Sonic Cd footage. Only thing that makes me think it's early is it's using the unused title screen music and for the time travel bit it's using that first track on the CD instead of the sound effect they went with.

Virtua Racing UK commercial. Been looking for this one for ages. I love the batshit UK Pirate Sega ones, seeing as I grew up on those.

The whole account has some British, Spanish and more Japanese promo videos, including a Saturn one that uses Arcade footage, tut tut!

There was an excellent long video on Youtube some time back that was some kind of educational video about 'the power of advertising' that focused on Sega that had commercials, merchandise, the tour buses, even radio show competitions with Sonic CD music in the background. It really showed just how hard Sega blew their money on advertising back then. Sadly it got pulled and I haven't seen it re-uploaded anywhere. :(
