Charity Stream for Tracy Yardley!
17 April 2014 - 01:52 PM
We do have an established Archie thread here, but I opted to make this a separate thread to hopefully catch the eye of those who don't check that thread particularly often (or at all), if a mod feels this fits better in the Megathread, please move the post into there, thank you.

For quite some time, Tracy Yardley! has been a fantastic contributor to Archie's Sonic series, the man really brings a lot to the table and has done some of the best artwork for the comic, bringing his own style and look to the characters while still keeping them in model with their game counter parts and bringing a pleasing aesthetic to the comic as a whole. However, it came to mine and a friend's attention that despite this he was having some trouble making ends meet. Tracy himself puts it better than I can.

To My Wonderful Fans,
Having worked with Archie Comics on the Sonic the Hedgehog comics has been a great privilege. Unlooked for, the good people of the Packrat Sonic Club of Packrat Comics in Hilliard, Ohio had a divine revelation that I could use some help and decided to run a benefit on my behalf. As some may know, I am the father of 5 children. My wife and I adopted 3 and had 2 of our own as well. By many standards I am a very rich man, but this last year has been trying in the money department. I know there are many out there who are in a much worse position that I am, but I'm very grateful for the help offered to me. I am continually awed by the love and encouragement I receive from my fans and I hope to help with future charity efforts to share the amazing goodwill that my fans have shown me.
With gratitude,
Tracy Yardley!
So, the plan is this. Me and FTA (of FindTheComputerRoom (and hopefully a few of our pals in the area)) are going to get together to host a charity stream for a man who has definitely helped to improve the series image, quite literally.
On April 19th, at around 3 PM EST at twitch.tv/ftcr69 (unfunny, we know) we'll start a stream up. Throughout the stream a 2 hour interview between FTA and Tracy will air in half hour chunks (the entire interview will be available uninterrupted in full sometime after the stream). In between those chunks we'll be playing through some of Tracy's favorite games, and also playing together in multiplayer Sonic modes, and altogether just having a good time (unless we play Shuffle).
Of course, for donating there are some cool rewards on the table, most of which were generously offered up by Tracy himself. Just about everything he provided is signed, there's original artwork for pages of the comic, a few issues of the comic itself, a few paper trades of the series, a couple Jazwares figures, a signed Sonic:Genesis hardcover book, and more. The prizes will be tiered with the donation amount, which we'll be explaining in more detail closer to the stream, and anyone who donates into that tier will be entered in a raffle drawing. Having seen it first hand the original page artwork is especially cool and probably the neatest item for fans of Tracy and the comic as a whole. This way we can help out a fellow fan of the series, and you can possibly earn some cool stuff while you're at it!

(A few of the original pages up for grabs)
We're trying to keep this just within the Sonic community. There should be a front page post here on Retro and over at The Sonic Stadium soon to help spread the word, but if any of you guys and gals know of anyone who'd like to swing by and hang out, please let them know! Even if you can't donate, come on by! It'll be a blast.
If you like the Facebook thing, we do have an event page as we're trying to get a rough idea of at least how many will be joining us over the stream. https://www.facebook...43913629129117/ -
Crazy Taxi coming to iDevices this month...
08 October 2012 - 10:05 AM
Looks like iDevices owners can get a port of Crazy Taxi, presumably with the original soundtrack this month. Their next move should be to patch the original soundtrack into the other digital ports of Crazy Taxi.

Saw this at SSMB, apparently T-Bird posted it on the SOS Facebook page.
I guess this is like, an official way for the UK to get official merchandise? Hopefully this can lead to a better way to get soundtracks and stuff for you guys. Honestly I don't know anything about this, just thought I'd pass it along. Maybe in the end this won't be UK-exclusive like it appears to be at a glance.
EDIT: Also says it sends out newsletters and whatnot. I'm going to sign up just for that. I mean, why not? -

So, what's next guys?
26 March 2009 - 05:58 PM
After finishing The Black Knight, I set down my controller and pondered.
"What on earth is next?"
We've had Sonic in the world of the Arabian Nights, and in an Arthurian landscape. So, what could possibly be next? I doubt they made that logo just for one game.
Honestly, I fear...Sonic and the Wild West, where Shadow is the leader of the bandits, Tails is the Bartender, Amy is the Showgal, and Knuckles as the Deputy, and Sonic has to rise in rank to be the Sheriff of a town. In stages, I've had visions of Sonic riding a horse, shooting pistols.
What do you think is next?
btw if Sonic and the Wild West actually happens I got dibs on the call
