In Topic: How legal are my romz?
13 February 2010 - 05:10 AM
Somewhat relevant.
The way I see it, you're probably fine unless you go around nonchalantly declaring that you have ROM's. Even then, You're probably fine with them. Regardless, it's only illegal unless you get caught. :P -
In Topic: STREETS OF RAGE 2 HACKING THREAD

QUOTENo, I said it for two reasons—number one, your discovery is not revolutionary, important, impressive, or helpful towards eventually making the music in Streets of Rage 2 editable by the public... or anyone, for that matter.
That's kinda harsh. Some people aren't "experts" at ROM hacking and haven't done it as long as people like you and me. To Glisp, that's pretty cool. And quite frankly, I think it's at the very least, interesting. It could in fact be helpful if there is some sort of documentation or source code for this driver.
I don't think trying to lower someone's self-esteme is something to be so bold about. Point being, it's something. Let the guy have his 5 minutes of excitement.
I don't think it was so much that it was an unimportant find as much as it was his smug attitude when he posted this.
EDIT: Fixed typo. -

I have no idea what Takashi Iizuka's doing right now.
Calling it right now.
This game is going to be terrible.
You read it here first folks.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
I'm done hyping this piece of shit.
But seriously if Iizuka is anywhere near this it's most likely going to end up shit. Give me one goddamn reason why I should even put a little faith in anything this man taints with his ham fisted, half assed, cliche, uninspired hands. ONE REASON.
Because we have nothing else to do with our time
I still have faith that this will still be a good game, even is Iizuka is involved. Don't know why, but it's just a really strong gut feeling.
Besides, It's still gonna be a 2D sonic game that follows in the same footsteps as the Genesis games, so it probably won't be TOO bad..right? -
In Topic: No more Oergomized.

So I reiterate—I'll be awaiting the next release eagerly. Oergomized is a very fun hack that is great to both play through and listen to, despite whatever flaws it may have, and I enjoy the changes that Oerg often makes from release to release. If a lack of potential in the future is the concern, I'm sure that there are plenty of avid supporters of the hack that would be glad to offer their services in enriching the content as it is to help round things out. There's no reason for something like this to die when there is literally no good reason to.
This.
I'm not usually one to spam or anything like this, but this sums up my views perfectly on this recent turn of events.
