  1. How would you redesign Sonic the Hedgehog?

    18 January 2010 - 05:26 PM

So, people have been talking about a Sonic redesign for Project Needlemouse. Now, the question I want to ask you is, how would you redesign Sonic? Would you make him look more classic? More modern? Maybe put him in a whole new style? I'm interested in seeing what you guys would come up with.

As for me, I'd do something like this.

I also have one that makes him look like a Quilava.
  2. Jun Senoue: The Works

    04 October 2009 - 09:01 PM

    The Preview Video

A full Jun album of epic guitarsmanship.

This shall be the album that inspires the whole world to take epic round-the-mountain-road trips with the top down, sunglasses on, and going "YEAH" at random intervals.
  3. How you would have made a Sonic RPG

    25 September 2009 - 07:12 PM

I wont lie. I hated Sonic Chronicles. It is shit. Plain as day, utter fanwanking, shallow, character derailing, best friends treating Sonic like shit, asinine half finished shell of a game.

If I had made a Sonic RPG, I would have done it differently. I'd probably use a battle system similar to a cross between TWEWY and the Mega Man Battle Network series, and most importantly I'd handle the issue of a plot.

What Bioware did? Nothing but shallow catering to the Retro fans that give a bad name to the Retro fans. That first line in the game that was basically "HAY SONIK 'MEMBER GREEN HILL LOL"? I...I can't even call that a reference. That was just dickery. If I made the plot, It would have been something that involves introspective on the main characters personality. Like I said way back in the Unleashed topic, I believe Sonic's original dream was to live life without anything tying him down, but as he made more and more friends, he started to become unsure as to whether or not leading a drifter's life was wise. Of course, any continuity nods made would be in the style of Taranea, an amazing Sonicfic writer on FF.net that everyone should go check out right now.

    Seriously.

Conversely, I have had an idea on how Eggman could become a credible villain without going the GRRR SATAM IS BEST SONIC route. It involves him uncovering the ruins of some great Mechanical Civilization that holds the "Crown of the Machine King," something that gives Eggman complete control of any machine just by willing it. However, it slowly drives him off the deep end, illustrated in an animated cutscene where the Gear on The Machine Crown starts turning...Only the placement of the gear on the actual crown implies that it's turning through his skull and brain.

Also, Sonic needs forms. I don't care how, but forms just have to be part of the game for it to be awesome.
  4. Character/universe immersion in newer Sonic games

    08 September 2009 - 09:01 PM

If Sonic games are going to keep the more dialogue-and-story-based plots, I just want one thing: I want the characters to do more than just save the world.

I think of it like in Ratchet and Clank. Sure, its your average Save the Universe type plot, but the characters do more than just talk about how the Universe is in danger. They have their own little quirks that influence their dialouge, their histories are referenced heavily, and most importantly, interaction with circumstances and setting.

The best thing I can think of for this is with Tails. In Unleashed, he's been studying with Professor Pickle, and from my point of view, Pickle views Tails not as a student due to his age, but more like an intellectual equal, a colleague if you will. So I got the idea; what if, in a Direct sequel to Unleashed, Tails becomes an instructor at Spagonia university? I myself would find it humorous to see the 8 year old fox introduced to the story while teaching a bunch of human college graduates how to build a plane or something, talking to them like an ordinary college professor.

And references; in Unleashed, that reporter woman gives you a quiz in which you can answer saying that Tails is really a girl. While I don't think that misconception should be directly acknowledged in the story, I would like it if Sonic finds some sort of ray gun in Tails' Workshop, and, surprise surprise, it turns out to be a Sex-changing Transformation Ray. If that is the case, it is my personal opinion that someone must be zapped, and also that the gun must make return appearances throughout the story.

    Or maybe that's just me.
  5. Visual Boy Advance locks up controls

    19 June 2009 - 04:59 PM

Ya see, every time I use the VBA emulator on this computer, the controls will randomly lock up. So say, I'm playing Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap. Every so often, the controls will just refuse to accept further input. That means if I was not pressing any buttons, I'll stand still and refuse to move. If I'm moving in any direction, then my controls will think that I'd like for it to make me walk into a wall for 10 seconds while enemies rape me up the ass.

Any way to fix this problem?
