    I'm pretty confident the avatar-uploading issue is long-standing and related to overly aggressive CloudFlare cacheing.

    In addition, Sonic isn't unlocked by default. Why are we forced to play as Tails first? This isn't Tails Jump Fever (although that sounds quite interesting). You'd have to play the game for an unhealthy amount of time to unlock the other characters, making Red Star Rings the only viable option of getting them, another example of how this pay to win craze has gotten out of hand.

    I unlocked Sonic in all of like fifteen minutes of play

    Ahh. Episode 2 is still working on Kit Kat for us Android users, but Episode 1 is extremely unstable.

    Funnily enough, Episode 1 still works fine on iOS 7 (or at least the iPad version).

    So, I'm wondering after reading Namco is pulling the (terrible) iOS port of Tales of Phantasia... since iOS 8 is bringing in sweeping changes to games, will this affect the Retro Engine titles or are you updating all three to work with iOS 8?

    He doesn't need to update anything, they all work fine in iOS 8.
    I don't know what sweeping changes you're referring to, the new graphics API is just an option to use instead of OpenGL. I suspect most developers with multi-platform games will probably continue to use OGL unless they really want to increase performance.

    Yeah, even if multiplatform compatibility wasn't a problem, there's not much point in the Retro Engine adopting Metal when it's not exactly pushing hardware boundaries anyway. Performance is practically flawless as-is.

    Maybe that wasn't the best wording on my part, so I'll rephrase it: I wish they would quit needlessly keeping us in suspense.

    They aren't. It's announced for iOS and Android and they have not made even the suggestion that it will come to anything else. Assume it is not coming to any other platform until announced otherwise. Any "suspense" is completely a product of your own imagination and desire.

    2011 remake. If you have the speed shoes and press a direction while in the air when the original spin dash physics are on, you hit the speed cap, which you shouldn't. Given how much of a focus the game puts on the speed shoes compared to just about every other Sonic game ever, it's a really egregious error, borderline game-breaking.

    It's described on the wiki, albeit very imprecisely/misleadingly.

    Fixed on iOS and Android. Not sure about Windows Phone. Definitely not on anything else.

    I think Yeow has pretty much hit the nail on the head. If Sega isn't getting these ported to consoles, then I wish they'd just say so already and quit jerking us around.

    Sega isn't "jerking us around". They just haven't said anything. If they'd teased something, THEN it'd be them jerking us around.

    Y'all do realize (most of) the anger in this thread is entirely self-generated, right?

    A++ post would recommend again.
