The megadrive is a cartridge?

Hey guys. Nice to be back after a while.
Sorry but I didn't know where else to put this.
My megadrive was having problems with graphics so I opened it up for a look:

See that red thing? It's a plastic cover that says DO NOT REMOVE.

Guess what I did.
So, yeah. Protected by that cover is a how-ever many pinned card:

Have a close look at it, then at the bottom of one of your game cartridges.
It seems to be the same type of card. A quick try with the top of a 'Sonic & Knuckles' cartridge confirms this.
So, what's it for? -

How do you get the unlockable games in Sonic Mega Collection Plus? I've searched the internet time and time again only to find differing opinions, so I want something final.
Have any of you guys done it? Any help would be appreciated. -

Sonic 1 Competiton - Who knows their classics?
A little game I thought up to see who's best at Sonic 1 on S2B.
Points are awarded for:
1)Clearing
A point shall be awarded for every 10 badniks killed or each boss defeated.
Counter begins at 0.
2)Time
A point shall be awarded for every 1000 imgame score points awarded for time bonus.
COunter begins at 0.
3)Rings
A point shall be awarded for every 10 rings that makes it to the end on an act or special stage with you.
Counter begins at 0.
4)Emeralds
A point is taken away for every special stage entered, unless the emerald is acheived at the end.
Counter begins at 9
5)Secret Knowledge
A point is awarded for every secret located in the game.
Counter begins at 0
6)Acrobatics
EDITED:
1 point for every time you impress me.
7)Mortalilty
A point is awarded for every life remaining after Final Zone.
Counter starts at -3. -3 is awarded for mortality if Game Over occurs (unless you use a continue)
Make a .GMV of your own game of Sonic 1. Once the file is created, either post it on this topic or get it to me through MSN ([email protected]) I'll score it and post High Scores here. If enough people show interest, I'll make a small website with all of the movie files on it.
Get a movie recording Gens here if you don't have one.
I'm using the non-marked version of Sonic the Hedgehog on SonicStuff to watch and score the movies, so try and use that one to record them.

I've found a glitch, and I've lost track of the glitch topics. In this one, as guessed by the title, Tails failed to turn up for the Marble Garden Zone boss.

Sonic Spinball Differences

Reading some articles on Sonic Spinball Beta, I noticed a part saying the only major difference is the invincible final boss. NOt only are the inter-level bonus stages not in the game, but there are also these differences.
Lots of pictures on this page I made so expect a long wait if you have a slow connection.
1: Extra badnik in Showdown.
2: Video sequence comes after Sega sequence, not after title screen.
3: On impact with bars, there is a different message.
4: The boss in Toxic caves can be killed with rocks.
5: In Toxic Caves, there is a layer of sludge around the bucket.
6: Diferent message on hitting ferron.
7: Trigger on Showdown boss is more helpful.
8: Hitting the trigger in Showdown has it tell you the remaining bar amount.
9: ferrons are known as forebots.
10: The going-doooooown message and sound has not been implemented.
11: Message is different after hitting a cluck.
12: Screen does not lower on "How about a Ride" message.
13: Boss graphics remain mainly intact on defeat.
14: Difference in jumping message.
15: No eruption timer.
16: No "platform stopped" message.
17: "Robossnic Bonus" opposed to Robotnik.
18: Difference in rock announcement.
19: Hatchways rather than satefy lids.
