Flipside, on 15 June 2013 - 08:32 PM, said:Another example is when a Mario Party game for Nintendo 64 tells you to turn the analog stick as quick as you can. The fastest way is with the palm of your hand, and that encourages you to do it so fast your hands blister up. I did that all the time with the Dragon Ball Z games, and it actually damaged the controllers too... I can't tell you how many times this killed me in a game because the analog stick didn't reset itself to the center like normal.
Well, there is a reason why stick-spinning was abandoned later in the N64 history, and why they changed the analog stick base for the Gamecube. -

Who died and made you the authority on how Sonic "should" be? Giving criticism and opinions is all well and good, but don't expect P3DR0 or Miden to model your ideal Sonic for you. -

It's interesting. I've never understood this take on things. As humans, we've been telling stories - "serious business" stories - about animals (and anthropomorphic animals) since the dawn of our species.
Maybe it's because I grew up on Redwall, but I've never found there to be disconnect between serious storytelling and animal characters. And in Sonic's case, since he's a sentient being, he's no more an animal than any human character is. He's more like an alien species - do people have this problem with stories about Vulcans, or Twi'leks?
I'm not saying Sonic has to be grimdark, or overly serious, I'm saying that the fact that he has blue fur and spines shouldn't be used as an argument against character development or drama.
My problem isn't so much with the seriousness, but how the cardboard-thin motivations of the characters, the corny dialogue and the lack of a coherent theme linking everyone's stories together throws me off. -

He actually doesn't use it for anything that one would use a drill for, like digging or burrowing. Perhaps Sonic just interrupting what Eggman was about to go and do to Emerald Hill?
medonerTheInvisibleSun pls

so he grabed a spear drill from his mcz machin
and slapped in front
