  1. Super Mario Bros. - The New Worlds

    11 January 2015 - 10:44 AM

So lately I've been lurking around the New Super Mario Bros. Hacking Domain, which is a forum centered around hacking NSMB DS, and I came across a hack that I played when it was in beta, but only just now that it's fully complete, I'm actually getting into it.

Copypasted from the NSMBHD forum topic:

  2. LoZ Spirit Tracks D-Pad Patch

    28 November 2014 - 09:54 PM

So I found this hack of Spirit Tracks on the GBAtemp forums, and while it claims to be a D-Pad patch, it actually does more than that, mapping movement, talking/examining, and sword combat to buttons on the DS.

    Quote

    Control Bindings:
    • D-Pad=Run
    • Y+Dpad=Walk
    • B=Wide slash
    • B+Dpad=Long slash
    • Y+B=Spin Attack
    • A=Interact
    • A+Dpad=Roll
Things that were originally bound the the D-Pad such as bringing down the map can still be accessed using Select + that direction. Some stuff like equipment will still have to be used with the touchscreen.
Here's a short demo of the new controls being used:

  3. Sonic Unlimited

    02 March 2013 - 05:19 PM

    Quote

Like STH2D, it's based on Sonic 06 (Sonic The Hedgehog), but this time the gameplay and level design are completely different.

We opted for freedom and speed this time around, and added a few requested features (spinjump is back!)

So leave your comments below and let us know what we did right/wrong if you like, it would help us a lot.

By the way, I highly recommend you take that tutorial in the beginning :)

Interesting, and the level design actually looks like it doesn't suck.
  4. AM2 Fighting games headed overseas

    20 November 2012 - 06:07 PM

So, Fighting Vipers, Sonic the Fighters, and Virtua Fighter 2 is headed our way soon.

    Quote

A trio of classic fighting games from the 90s is on the way — Fighting Vipers, Sonic the Fighters, and Virtua Fighters 2 are all headed to digital download on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade!

All three games have a deep arcade lineage, developed by SEGA's legendary AM2 team — the fine folks responsible for core titles like After Burner II, Out Run, and Space Harrier. The upcoming releases feature support for full online multiplayer and achievements/trophies, and are complete versions of the arcade originals. Here's the release details:

    PlayStation Network:

    • November 27th (North America) - $4.99 (each)
    • December 5th (Europe) - £3.69/€4.49 (each)
    Xbox Live Arcade:

    • November 28th – 400 MSP (each)

  5. A weird kind of freeze

    15 September 2011 - 10:30 AM

Ok, the main offenders of this is Minecraft and a space-sim game called Evochron Mercenary.

    Minecraft:
Everything works fine, but after several minutes, the video will freeze. However, I can still hear the game running, and can still interact with the game, but I'm unable to see anything other than the point the video froze.

    Evochron Mercenary:
Everything works fine, but after several minutes, the video freezes upon entering the Shipyard, which is crucial for ship upgrades. Alt-tabbing allows the video to run again, but only as long as the game is not the active window. Once the window is active again, the video will stop again.

Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, with an Nvidia GeForce GT 525M, and 6-8 GBs of RAM, if that helps.
