It's the same as the one they put out in 1998. A tad expensive though, for me.
  2. "Sega Mega CD Development Board" up on ebay

    11 March 2011 - 09:07 AM

Hey, I'm not sure if this is newsworthy or interesting at all (if it isn't, go ahead and trash, I don't mind)
    This thing has popped up on ebay;

    QUOTE
Today I want to sell my Sega Mega CD Development Board
The Board is from Sega 1991! Was build before the MCD Devunit from Cross Products
Very rare and only for short time!
The dev board comes loose without any software
Its an ISA PCB with an SCSI interface
    ! For Sega collectors !

    See it here
Even if nobody's going to pay the 400 USD to get it, maybe it's worth stealing the image for the wiki or something.
  3. Laputa: Castle in the Sky/S3&K

    13 February 2010 - 04:48 PM

The most I can find on this topic is this page on Sonic research, but it doesn't have any area for discussion(to my knowledge).

Anyway, for those of you who don't know the movie, it's a Hayao Miyazaki movie from 1986, its centres around a levitating island which is kept afloat by a large green gem. The island has ancient buildings left behind by a long-extinct race. The exterior of the castle, looks not unlike Sky Sanctuary Zone, either.

Somewhere around the film's climax(I think, it's been a while since I saw it), the castle part crumbles

As shown in the sonicresearch.rog article, the Robots fall, then fly out of the island, kinda like the eggrobos flying out of the death egg.
There's also the mechanic of the pirate's airship, who in my opinion looks a little like a certain egg-shaped-Doctor.

So did anyone else notice any of this when they watched the movie? do you see it as a respectful nod, or a sheer rip off? Was there already a topic on this that I missed?
