  1. Sonic the Hedgehog - Remix

    30 March 2009 - 04:37 PM

I've been listening to the "Sonic the Hedgehog - Remix" album quite a lot lately, though I've already heard some of its tracks on and off over the years (my personal favorites are "Miracle Blue~Little Planet~" and "Sonic Stream"). I think it's a fantastic album, one of my favorite spin-off albums for the series. Over time, the album had sparked a bit of curiosity in me, and after searching for some of these answers throughout the Internet in vain, I'm hoping some of my questions can be addressed here:

    1) Are "Love you 'Sonic'" and "Sonic Stream" supposed to be remixes of anything? I don't recognize which tunes they're based on, though the former gave me some strange vibes of "We Are Burning Rangers," I have to admit.

    2) Anybody happen to have lyrics for the three vocal songs on this album? ("Love you 'Sonic'," "Brand-new World," and "When we reach for you~Could it be right~") It's absolutely nightmarish trying to decipher what the vocalist in the second song is singing, especially.

    3) The booklet credits two vocalists for the songs: yasu and momo. Would anybody here know what their real names may be? I looked up yasu, but all I got was the lead vocalist for J-Rock band Janne Da Arc, and since I'm a semi-fan of this band, I well know that it isn't the same guy. It'd also be nice to know if they've performed anything for any other Sega album or soundtrack, but I didn't see anything on VGMdb.net.

    4) On Sonic Retro's wikipage on the album, I noticed that Takenobu Mitsuyoshi is listed as a credited composer, but when I looked at the booklet scans, I didn't see his name or any pseudonym that could possibly be his. I read on The GHZ that he was at one point meant to provide the vocals for the songs, but pulled out for some reason I forgot. Anybody have a source on this?

Any help would be really appreciated.
