    Photobucket

These are mostly gameplay photos along with a few extra shots. There are 2 of every photo because I forgot to turn off the HDR on my camera and I just drag-and-dropped everything (I'm doing this in a mega-hurry since I'm still sightseeing in St. Louis). Keep checking the Photobucket over the next few days while I try to get everything to upload.

I also have 4 full level playthrough videos; these will be uploaded to YouTube and embedded here later. (Even if you're unimpressed by the quality of the photos, you'll be very happy with the quality of the videos.)

I have much to say later on how both games handle. Super-short description: very creative level design, physics are solid, Sonic has a few cool new moves, they came up with an interesting way to handle the recent "no sonic stop going so fast" issue by making him slow by default and fast only when you hold the R trigger; it works VERY well.

Heading over to the City Museum now; I'll try to get a video uploaded tonight or tomorrow

    One of my favorite shots:

It's possible to get into Sonic's section, but not at the point you were talking about about, and you can't backtrack to that section because the water pipes are one-way. The glitch/oversight happens around 0:30-0:31 in that video, and it looks like you also need to go super in order to have enough momentum to run around the curve at 0:50-0:53 in order to land on the diagonal pipe (or else you just go through it).

    Slight bump:

So, who all is actually going to Boom? Since we staff have mostly backed out of the event (not in protest but mostly due to finances in personal lives requiring priority elsewhere), I'd like to present you all with an opportunity.

Basically, I'd like someone to do a write up on the event that will be posted on the front page. Live tweeting the event would be super awesome too, if possible. I'm looking for someone with competent writing skills (doesn't need to be perfect, so no need to worry), maybe talk with a some people and get some quotes (not required, but flavor text is nice), and photos. Lots of photos of the stage, costumes, panels, etc.

Usually, I enforce a no cellphone photo policy, but most phone cameras have gotten comparable with standard point and shoot cameras, and I don't expect everyone to own a DSLR like mine.

If you're interested in this opportunity, fire a PM my way and we'll talk more.

I'm going! We just arrived in St. Louis, and I'll be live-tweeting the whole event, probably with pics and Vines over on @Mega_Turd. Gene, I'd be more than happy to collaborate some photos and such for the front page article (I take photos on my iPhone 4S; low-light photos are absolute garbage but I can probably get some good shots). Sapphire and I will try to grab footage of each other playing Lost World as well.

As for testing the game on hardware - you can run it on hardware but only if you've got an AV cable for some strange reason; scart output doesn't work, it just gives the audio and not the picture. We thought at first that it just wouldn't run properly on our Dreamcast, it was only when we spoke to Nik that we tried the AV cable as he told us that there's a couple of other DC games that don't support scart output.

Not sure what you mean. My Dreamcast is hooked up to my TV via a single cable that goes from this "AV OUT" slot...

...to your standard red/yellow/white composite video hookups. Would I be able to see the picture on hardware?

You had to pull the string and Tails would launch into the air. Was lots of fun, although the last time I used mine it seemed to not work right anymore. =/

I had that one. It was from Wendy's, I think. I must have gotten it when I was REALLY little, because the first I remember seeing it was one day in a box of old toys. It was cool until it flew up into the gutter in our house one day.
