As some of you may have heard the rumours, I am leaving the Sonic community to pursuit other interests.

In other words, I will no longer be running or funding SWS2B. I have appointed LocalH to be the new owner. Files and databases containing the current site and forums will be transferred to him. LocalH (and whoever else he may appoint) will be responsible for 1) deciding on a new site name, 2) acquiring hosting, and 3) running the site and forums.

It's been agreed that the new site, not being owned by me, will not be called SWS2B for obvious reasons. However I will retain ownership of the sws2b.com domain, but traffic will be redirected to the new site for some while.

We have not decided when the move will occur; it could be weeks or months away before you'll notice any changes. I'll make another post when more details come out.

Anyway, don't think of this as the end, but a new beginning. I'm sure the forums will be more well-run with someone more attentive in charge.

As real life is starting to get busy and I may not be here as much, I'd like to thank LocalH and Hivebrain for being kind enough to agree to help out the admin tasks.

So, congrats.

Before anyone asks (or panics for whatever weird reasons), here are the answers:
It's still a dictatorship.
The forums may revert back to one-man mode if and when my real life permits.

Things that will be added to the site during the next update. This topic will be recycled and reused.

Most of the following are not brand new discoveries, but bits and pieces of observations that will make the Sonic 2 Beta documentation more complete.

It has already caused some unnecessary confusions. So that's it. Relative positioning is now one of the banned HTML codes. Please remove the code from your sig by the end of this Friday, May 6th. Or I'll start removing them myself and there's no guarantee I'll accurately remove only the offending code when in a hurry.

Administrators: People responsible for maintaining the forums and making administrative decisions.

Moderators: People responsible for maintaining the forums.

Site Staff: People responsible for maintaining the front page.

Wiki Sysops: People responsible for maintaining the wiki.

Pending Membership: Members who just registered but haven't yet taken further measures to gain full posting privileges. They have the ability to edit the wiki, and they have limited posting ability.

Trial Members: Newly registered members undergoing the 20-post Trial Phase. If approved by an admin, they'll be promoted to Members. Otherwise, they'll be moved to Pending Approval after 20 posts.

Members: Full-fledged members that have been promoted from the trial phase. More subforums are now available at this stage.

Pending Approvals: People who have used up their posts in the trial phase. This group has no posting privilege. Legible people will be promoted to Members; rejected people will remain in this group indefinitely.

Oldbies: Members who have shown to be around in the Sonic Research scene for a "long" time. "Long", meaning since early 2003 or even earlier. Admission into this group is arbitrarily up to the Administrators, on a case-by-case basis.

Tech Members: Members who have shown to possess extensive knowledge of the technical side of Sonic games. Tech Members have their own Lounge forum, and has the ability to detect clone accounts of Trial Members, Pending Approvals, and Misfits. Admission into this group is arbitrarily up to the Administrators, on a case-by-case basis. Tech Members are NOT moderators.

Misfits: People who have been indefinitely banned from this message board, usually as a result of failing to follow the rules, intentionally or not.
