  1. In Topic: Dreamcast Collection for Steam is finally being sorted out

It's pretty nice to see that Sega's finally paying more attention to the PC ports. I'm definitely going to play some Sonic Adventure DX in the next few days. I'm quite frankly surprised that Sega added FXAA and V-Sync, considering they generally don't seem to be too PC-minded. However, I might be wrong; were these changes in any other port of the game? Windowed mode removal is weird, though.

P.S: Any idea if they've fixed the weird, occasional blackscreening problems?

Do you want any team members to help you out? I can assist with creating music. I don't mind what's your decision. I love Sonic XG

Taxman doesn't work on the game anymore. You'll have to contact Nitemare on his Youtube channel (Joe Waters) and ask him. It would be nice to get some new music for XG. Though the selected tracks are pretty nice, it's too bad that it doesn't have a great custom track like some other fangames.
  3. In Topic: The Return of Sonic XG?

I'm really looking forward to this release. While I'm not trying to get my hopes up too much, in case the game ends up being underwhelming, it continues to look brilliant. Though I'm normally not one to say things like "This is the true Sonic 4", I actually feel like Sonic XG has the potential to achieve classic status. Also, in case you guys didn't spot this in the fourth trailer, there's a new zone. Upon asking about it, Nitemare responded saying that it was Hydro Haven, one of the levels cut in early development. It seems that it will take the place of Golden Gate Zone, which Nitemare deemed bland compared to the other zones.

I really enjoyed these videos! They're definitely some of the best videos of their kind. Honestly, I think your channel deserves more attention. Speaking of Sonic 3D, Overlord already mentioned Sonic 3D: No Flickies. If you haven't checked it out already, it's completely worth it. Despite the slippery controls and odd level design, with this hack, I actually consider Sonic 3D to be a classic in its own right. You're also the first person I've seen who hasn't completely slammed Sonic R. While it's not a game that I love, I could never understand why it gets so much hate. Anyway, I look forward to seeing more from your channel.

The problem with No Flickies is that it shows how damn simple the levels are without that mission. They're more just hubs to collect the flickies in. I can maybe empathize with why they went that route since a standard platformer would likely take up tons of memory for plausibly sized dynamic levels for Sonic run around in, as Josh mentioned with Xtreme.

Granted Panic Puppet 2 was a pretty decent level without the flickies so who knows.

Add two people. Sonic R was imperfect, but I couldn't bash the gameplay itself much. It just needed some fine tuning, mostly in terms of character playability and the number of levels.

I can understand that a few of the zones were pretty simplistic, however, many of them seem pretty vast. The thing about Sonic 3D is that it seems that the flickies were added as a gimmick to encourage exploration. You could argue that it was gameplay filler, but I don't really think so. To be perfectly honest, I think the development team was just stuck on how to make the stages more interesting. However, the game holds up pretty well without flickies.
