In Topic: Sonic sure has a lot of jumping abilities...

I found it more fun with the insta-shield than the fire/water/thunder shields due to being able to dodge projectiles. It's especially rewarding when you insta-shield through the flame throwers in Lava Reef Zone Act 2, Hydrocity Act 1 Mini-boss I purposely get hit with my bubble shield so I can nab three to four hits on him before he lands on the spinning middle pillar and the satisfaction of jumping off a ceiling, insta-shielding to bypass the spikes of one of those Orbinauts in Launch Base Zone and then landing on the elevators right before the Knuckle's bombing cutscene. It's not mandatory but pulling off stuff like that is so satisfying and addictive. Abusing this ability makes it feel broken as hell.
But to choose the best one? It all depends, if we had another Sonic3 and Knuckles where there are abilities that defines the characters, Knuckles could glide and climb walls, Tails can fly and swim, but Sonic? Other than its great offensive and situational defensive capabilities it doesn't give Sonic his own path which really bothers me about Sonic3&Knuckles more than it should. I would like Sonic to have his own exclusive paths disregarding that his two-tailed tag along can follow him.
The homing attack wouldn't be all that great due to Tails having access to almost anywhere on the map. -

I'll need to find it sometime, I had a Sonic Book when I was younger where you'd make decision like this:
A. Will Sonic go left?
B. Will Sonic go right?
If A skip to page 67
If A skip to Page 75
What reminded me of this was Jen's post with "Storming Sonic". Would be cool if there were a forum game using such a book. -
In Topic: If I were to reboot (Characters)

If I were to reboot Sonic, I'd take him back to the classic world, which never had its potential really explored outside of the Mega Drive games.
So it wouldn't be a real reboot, but a... system recovery?
On the same boat.
I've never been fussy on how Sonic looked in any form he's appeared in his Games/Comic/Animation but if I was to choose what appearance he should undertake and evolve from what would be from Sonic CD opening/ending animation:
Sonic CD intro- Japanese/Europe in HD! - Youtube
Not too lanky and not too chubby, it's my favourite model of him so far.
Plus the whole settings from that actually, he had a more romantic and meaningful brush about him other than "Saving my friends." but the theme in my opinion was better suited to "Saving nature and and ensuring its future." and of course Amy's design as a person (well hedgehog) was more tolerable than a short tempered love obsessed hammer wielding nutjob. In CD she's the damsel in distress who's also a another motive that drives the player forward and if you failed? The results were devastating with nature destroyed as in the bad guy actually won which fuels you ever further to push the protagonist not to witness the same mistake again.
So it's not actually a reboot, rather moving back and then taking a new direction forward. -
In Topic: Why Sonic 2?

I would suggest that more people got to experience Sonic 2 due to the number of sales, if I recall correctly it was among the highest selling product produced by Sega and no doubt (maybe a little) that it was the best selling game of the Mega-Drive/Genesis. Overall more people got to play the game, and perhaps a great number played it as its very first Sonic game.
Not trying to be a Zebra sleeping with the Lions, but if anything out of Sonic 1/CD/2/3&Knuckles Sonic 2 has always been my least favourite out of the four. I favoured Sonic3&Knuckles it felt more of an adventure and due to my very young age it was easier to adapt to due to the save slots and the game being generally more easier and making it for me, more accessible than the previous ones. -

I'm having the same problem as ThunderPX, I got a 120HZ monitor that can only achieve this by DisplayPort, change to another port and you'll be fine playing it.
This also happens for Sonic 4 Episode 2.
Edit: What Master Emerald posted works for both, many thanks.
