  1. Sonic 3 & Knuckles in 26:53.06

    17 December 2014 - 11:38 AM

publication on TASvideos | author comments

After more than four years since the previous TAS, Aglar and marzojr bring a 3:00.21 improvement over it. This was made with reference to the S3K disassembly here on Retro.

There's a second encode using a hack that keeps Sonic on-screen, so you can see what he's doing while waiting for the camera to catch up and load things.

    ...Happy 20th, Sonic 3!
  2. Passion & Pride

Remastered versions of all the character themes, plus a brand-new mix of It Doesn't Matter. Comes with instrumentals, too. It'll be out on the 10th for 3000 yen.
  3. Sonic-a-thon! Going Fast for a Good Cause!

    07 August 2014 - 12:03 PM

Since I'm the king of posting about events after they're already going on :v:

Playing Sonic for charity, what can go wrong? HellfireComms, BrainScratchComms, and HPAW are rolling through several games (and commentators) to benefit Child's Play. The stream, schedule, and incentives can be found at the above link. Starts at 6PM GMT every day (which is noon for me, so it's easy to remember).

They've already done Secret Rings and Shadow, so some of the "bad for bad's sake" is already out of the way. Unleashed, Generations, and Sonic 2 are on the docket for today (8/7), so get hype.
  4. Sonic Heroes: Team Blast gauge glitch

    14 May 2012 - 10:25 PM

Sonic Heroes has a gamebreaking glitch, whodathunk.

I've scoured the internet for any reference to this glitch and I've turned up empty-handed, so check it out. This glitch gives you a nice large chunk of Team Blast instantly. Kinda tricky to pull off, but I'd imagine it could shake up a speedrun or two. In fact, poor Egg Hawk gets the honor of showing just how easily you can break the bosses.

The thing is, I'm on the gloriously renowned PS2 version (don't even bother cursing me over it), and it's also an old-ish copy of the game; but I distinctly remember discovering this glitch about a year or so after I bought it. That said, anyone else with the game (PS2 or otherwise) is welcome to confirm this glitch. It's slightly finicky, but you should be able to trigger it eventually. I also don't know whether or not this glitch works when switching to Speed rather than Power.

Also: don't interpret this wrong, because to me this game is better than Adventure 1. Opinions, opinions.
