PSP Joystick Problems
14 September 2013 - 08:42 PM
So I got a PSP, and while everything works, the joystick will sometimes flat-out stop working. As in, it doesn't seem to register the directions I'm pushing it. I've returned it about 3 times now, and they've all had some kind of problem: one had a joystick problem that was like this, and the other two couldn't connect to the wifi. I've looked around, and the most I've seen is "open it and see if anything is wrong". I don't really want to open it up, because I'm afraid I'll break something, and PSP screws are apparently really fragile. So far I've tried the following:
- Calibrating the Joystick
- Pushing the faceplate around the Joystick
- Waiting to see if it will go away
Calibration didn't work, and pushing the faceplate seemed to help only a bit. Waiting for around 8 hours allowed for it to work for about 10 minutes and then it stopped again.
Does anyone here know what I can do to fix this? It's pretty annoying, as I can't play any games that require using the joystick to move. - Calibrating the Joystick

PSP 3000 Joystick Problem
02 August 2013 - 03:14 AM
So, I bought a preowned EB Games PSP due to sales and had it replaced two times due to the 1000 models wifi not working (first time the switch was broken, second time it just wouldn't work). I upgraded too a 3000, and now I found out my joystick doesn't work.
Basically what happens is that the joystick acts as if it's being held down in the center position and will only act as if it's in the center position if I hold if half-up. It registers somewhat if I hold it up, but it acts as if it's barely pushed up. Simply put, I cannot use my joystick at all, or play any games that require the joystick like Ape Escape: On the Loose.
I'm planning on returning it tomorrow, but does anyone know a way too fix this? I've tried re calibrating, and that didn't help at all. I still have around 2 weeks of warranty because I had too wait for around 2-3 weeks just so I could actually get the god damn thing.

Wii Virtual Console Errors
12 April 2013 - 08:10 PM
I grabbed a Wii off TradeMe, picked it up yesterday and tried it out today. It came with Pokemon Puzzle League preinstalled, and I tried it out a few hours ago.
However, when I tried it out, my TV threw a "Mode not Supported" error. I unplugged the cables and put them into my incredibly small, Mono Tube TV and checked it out. It was fine, the game booted up perfectly fine. I turned off the Wii, checked out the Internet and did the supposed 'fix' (Z + A + 2 on the Nunchuck+ Controller), and that didn't work. It doesn't even allow me to see the Wii menu, it just stays at the screen. I'm not really sure what to do TBH, as I got the Wii for both GC compatibility as well as the Virtual Console, and now VC won't work. It's most likely due to the fact that the Wii is PAL, and the TV is from America, but other people seem to have this problem as well.
So, is there any fix? -
External Graphics Card
01 December 2012 - 04:03 AM
So my laptop is OK, but has a crappy graphics card. It's an integrated Intel HD Family.
But anyway, I was remembered something about hooking up a graphics card via USB or something, and that would allow it to use the external one, instead of the internal one. After Googling for a bit, I still haven't really come any closer to my answer. The most I found was a DIY guide about it using components my laptop doesn't have (mainly an ExpressCard reader IIRC).
So does anyone here know anything like this, or know any better solutions? The laptop is great, it can run most programs, but the graphics card is just... bad I guess. Most recent games (Sonic Generations, Skyrim) will run OK, but I know it can do better. It's just the graphics card that's holding it back. I've also done some searching on if I could switch out the graphics card, like on a desktop, but I couldn't really find anything specific apart from that some laptops can, and some can't.
I'm using a Toshiba Portege R835, with 4 GB of RAM, a Windows 7 64-Bit OS system, and a 2.5 GHz processor. -
Web Browser Suddenly Changing?
02 August 2012 - 03:00 AM
So this has happened twice today and has never happened before. My whole screen just turned into red and green squares, or to be more specific, my web browser (Chrome) did. They're tiled and I have no idea why it's doing that. Also, my computer made a ticking noise for a bit, but has stopped now.
Currently doing a virus scan, but I'm not sure what'll turn up.
