  2. A Job

    06 September 2011 - 01:05 AM

This is not a request. This is an job and you will be paid for your services.

I'd figured I'd ask here before I go venture out into the depths of the internet.

Some background to the current situation. If you want to get right to the point, don't read click on spoiler.
    Spoiler

Now lets get to the details.

I want to redo my stream page in a way that allows the user to navigate between an organized list of channels as well as choose different video options and maybe chat options. And by redo, I mean nuke the old one from orbit. I built that page in a cave with a box of scraps.

Here's a link to the current design.

    Here's a rough mock up.

    Video:
On the current version of the page, the video is embedded manually set as 720x540 with no way to change it. I would like to allow the visitors to have the option to change the video size. Whether this be by pre-set option or user input I'm not sure. I'm guessing pre-set would be the easiest of the two.

Secondly, I would like to offer some form of allowing multiple stream embeds. I think 2 embeds is good enough and it's not required for this option to have the ability to switch video sizes unless you get off on that or something. During this write up it occurred to me that the current design might make choosing the second stream an issue. If a revision is necessary please let me know.

    Channel:

Currently I just have a basic horizontal scrolling thingy majig. It was good enough back when there were 10 channels but it's a mess now. I would like for it to still be horizontal but with the ability to list channels based on categories. I actually found an excellent example that matches what I exactly. Minus the gigantic gap between images.

If it's not too troubling, designed in a way where an idiot (such as myself) can easily add new categories and channels to those categories.

Now this part is the deal breaker. I want there to be some sort of indicator to let the user know if the channel is currently live. Text, a float image, opacity change, dancing_baby.gif, order in the list, whatever, as long as it's noticeable.

The main streaming site a majority of these channels use is Justin TV and its gaming spinoff Twitch.tv. The other alternatives used are Ustream and Livestream but these are only one or two channels. Justin TV and Twitch TV are the important ones however so those should be taken care off before Ustream or Livestream.

This is also probably a big stretch but if possible, a category where only the channels that are currently live pop up in the list.

    Chat:

This is entirely optional and not high my priority list. For the chat, just the ability to either remove the chat, or switch between the stream's own chat embed and the site's chatango embed. I really don't care if it gets done or not though.

    Misc:
I originally offered this job to Sik but other priorities took over and he had to drop the project. However, I offered him a completely different site plan and this one is much larger in scope than what I offered him. Give me a quote and I'll let you know when I can have your money, unless someone offers a better price and throws in a pine tree.

That's pretty much all of it. If there are any questions, or suggestions to make the job easier, I'm all ears.
  3. Udderly Tickets

    14 July 2010 - 05:08 PM

So I was reading up on some old EGMs when I came across this bit in the reader section of the magazine.

I went and checked SEGA Retro if there was any info on it but couldn't find anything under either name. I started doing some searching a couple of minutes ago and found these flyers at the The Arcade Flyer Archive.

Apparently these machines were around the good old 97 by SEGA Pinball Inc.

I'm still looking up for more info on this.
  4. Spider-Man: Web of Fire

    25 June 2010 - 08:57 PM

This is in no way an appreciation thread. This game is awful and it deserves any negative comments it gets. No one should be tortured by playing this terrible game.

The main reason I'm making this thread is to see if I can get some help identifying some of the following villains. The game itself only references three villains and I had to look up some of the others but I'm not 100% sure about some of them. I don't know if the manual names them either and I'm not paying $100+ for this game just to get a manual. This entire game is a mess as it implies these are all members of HYDRA but from what I've gathered so far only Super Adaptoid is part of HYDRA, and even then only loosely. On top of that, these aren't even Spider-Man specific villains but bottom of the barrel Marvel Universe villains making them harder to identify.

    Dragonman
    Vanisher
    The Eel
    Thermite
    Blitz
    Tangle
    Super Adaptoid

Another reason is to see if anyone knows about this game's release date. The Retro Wiki says 96 as well as a handful of other sites, but other sites like IGN list it with a more specific date as June 3, 1995, and the ROM copy I've obtain has a copyright date of 1996 with the debug menu showing November 30, 1995. I'm going to go ahead with the year 96, but would anyone know of a more solid date?

And is this really the last SEGA 32x game? Talk about going out with a whimper.

    Finally, this is false advertising.

    None of this ever happens.
  5. All-Stars Racing Version Poll 2

    27 February 2010 - 09:35 PM

    PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU VOTE

YOU MUST POST WHICH VERSION YOU VOTED FOR OR YOUR VOTE WILL NOT BE COUNTED

Alright, thanks for the answers from last poll people, however there was a bit of an issue that I didn't foresee with the last poll so before you vote...

Of the two versions above, which one do you OWN. If you do not OWN either of these then please do not vote as you will only mess with the results. Again, you must already OWN these games to vote, not "I'm getting it in a week, maybe".

As you can tell from the options, you must also have either Gold Membership to X-Box Live or be able to connect your PS3 so you can be on the Network and play with others. No Silver Memberships, no PS3s that are in your basement but too far from your router. This is extremely important. Please do not vote if you cannot do either of these.

If you do vote, please post in this topic which one you voted for and if you can provide your Live Gamertag or PSN Name. If you do not wish to make your names public, that's fine but at least post in the thread.

Finally, the Wii version has been removed due to the small number of people that owned the Wii version of the game. Like the last thread, do not bring up the Wii, DS, or PC versions. They are not up there for a reason. Please don't ask about it.

    Thank you very much.
