Personally, I'm hoping they can use the original soundtrack and don't have to hire anyone else -- if they did though, they at least have plenty of good artists to go to. I'm hoping that these songs really will inform a few new people about this whole thing though! :D -

You're right, it is redundant.
I'm actually not expecting these songs to somehow magically end up in the game. It's something I'm doing to raise awareness for the fan-driven campaign to get the game made, and nothing more. I'm glad you liked the music, though! :D

I only post once a year, but this one's been bugging me for ages, and I don't know if anyone's posted it.
We all know Ristar's level 5-2, but here it is for reference.
The point I'm talking about is at 00:39, although, really, there is a good amount of resemblance in the rhythm and the bass to this song;
Soul II Soul's Keep on Movin' done back in '89. If you match the section of the Ristar song up to 1:35 in this song, the chords are quite similar, although the chords in the Soul II Soul song are more diverse throughout the rest of the song. After that breakdown at 1:35, Soul II Soul's song conforms much closer to the chords in the Ristar song.
Since this kind of music was pretty popular at the time, I can see why the composers/arrangers in Ristar may have drawn inspiration from this song. [/longwinded worthless conjecture]
