Sound Effects

I got bored and made an "alien ship" type drone sound. It can be used for Death Egg. You'd never guess what the source material for this sound was...
It is not ripped from another game but an original creation and is released under the "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License."

Sonic Xtreme Instruments
13 August 2008 - 09:22 PM
First of all, I'm pseudo-back. I probably won't even lurk much though.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I listened to Chris Senn's Sonic Xtreme music for a while, after finding part of it and downloading the rest. I managed to pick out that he used, among other things: a Roland Sound Canvas, a Roland JV-1080, possibly a JD-990, possibly a D-50, and possibly a U-220 or D-70. I've asked a member (dunno if they mind if I say who) if they could contact him and see if he remembers exactly what he used.
The point is, I have three of those synthesizers with another planned as a future purchase. I want to sample sounds from these boxes for the musical types here to use. You can have the sounds in two forms: SF2 Soundfont and plain wave file.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An example:
Compare - http://xtreme.projec...pace_queens.mp3
With - http://synthmania.com/Roland%20D-50/Audio/...ich%20Brass.mp3
It's also possible that the brass is a JV-1080 patch since there are patches like that in there, but with several hundred to filter through, I'm not eager to find it.
http://synthmania.com/Roland%20JV-2080/Aud...4voicePiano.mp3 appears to be the piano used in the music. -
Price of Sonic's next gen game
26 September 2006 - 02:45 PM
Ok, so I don't know what Sonic's PS3 debut will cost, but this might give an idea:
http://theinquirer.n...x?article=34617
http://ps3.ign.com/a...4/734950p1.html
That amounts to prices as high as:
$83.67 USD
$44.15 GBP (Not including VAT)
$65.92 EUR
$93.09 CAD
$111.40 AUD
Feeling good about the PS3 now? I know I certainly can't possibly afford it. Especially considering the current $430 USD for the basic console.

So why were the modern voice actors chosen?

Those are the wave ROMs from Sonic Arcade rev C. The first one contains voice samples that sound quite a bit like the modern voice actors. Anyone know who did the VA stuff for Sonic Arcade? -
A question regarding S3K and S3K PC music
30 January 2006 - 02:21 PM
Supposedly Michael Jackson worked on some songs for the Genesis version, Ice Cap being one. Which ones did he work on exactly? Do these happen to be the same ones replaced in the PC version?
