    I noticed something strange. I got 6 emeralds on my first run. I was greeted by a screen that told me I could grab the last one by way of level select. So, of course, I tried it out on one of the earlier levels to grab it and go and it took me to the first special stage for some reason. I beat that, and the usual emerald collection on screen wasn't there. When I tried on the next level, it just took me to the same special stage with the same result. So I just decided to man up and replay the whole game. Emeralds collected just fine through the "Game Start" mode, but I tried it out in level select again just to see what would happen and the special rings wouldn't even appear. Seems to be something fishy going on with the way the game saves or something.

    Wonderful game you guys have here, despite these minor glitches and flaws.

    I imagine just about any song about escaping, cities, cities escaping, etc. could use these lyrics.

    A very belated thanks to the guys who helped me sort out my vram issues earlier in the thread. I return with more problems.

    (My apologies for the poor palettes and shoddy tail mock-up.)

    So I'm trying to give Sonic a tail (a Pikachu tail to be exact). My thought was to import code from Tails' tails. The main effect I'm looking for is for the tail to act like Tails' do in ball mode. I'm also going to need the tail to appear in several other of his animations, but I'm not really sure if it would be better to just add to the existing sprites or if it should be loaded separately like Tails' is at times. Using the Spindash dust section of the Spindash guide as a sort of reference for adding objects related to Sonic, I tried taking the object code from the Nick arcade beta. After sorting a few things out, I did get it to assemble, but the code I added to Sonic's main object to call the tails makes the game run super slow and crash. I really don't know if that code is just wrong, or if I messed up several other things.

    I've been looking to put in a character that has a slightly longer name than Sonic, and I tried to alter the name on his life icon to account for more tiles. I inserted the tiles, altered the mappings and everything, and all I seem to get is some bars of junk when I reference the new tiles. The mappings still seem to work with the older tiles though.



    My point being, is it possible, or reasonable, to make the name on the life icon to read extra tiles, or am I better off scrapping the name or abbreviating it?
