I guess my fresh membership starts in the LocalH era lol.
So I don't know Simon, except from the fact he founded this site.

Well, I'd like to read the yapping too for some insights.

FYI, the deadline of the move has been extended to the end of September, as requested by LocalH.

Hey Simon, I can't know you because I just joined, but for what I could read, I think you are probably a cool guy. It's sad that we won't have the chance to coexist.

Good luck on your life and your projects. Good luck to our new lord, administrator and savior LocalH as well. :D

Simon, on Jun 24 2006, 08:39 PM, said:

As some of you may have heard the rumours, I am leaving the Sonic community to pursuit other interests.

In other words, I will no longer be running or funding S2B. I have appointed LocalH to be the new owner. Files and databases containing the current site and forums will be transferred to him. LocalH (and whoever else he may appoint) will be responsible for 1) deciding on a new site name, 2) acquiring hosting, and 3) running the site and forums.

It's been agreed that the new site, not being owned by me, will not be called S2B for obvious reasons. However I will retain ownership of the s2beta.com domain, but traffic will be redirected to the new site for some while.

We have not decided when the move will occur; it could be weeks or months away before you'll notice any changes. I'll make another post when more details come out.

Anyway, don't think of this as the end, but a new beginning. I'm sure the forums will be more well-run with someone more attentive in charge.

Might wanna fix those. I take it you filtered SWS2B and sws2b.com throughout the database?

Saz did. I won't be going through and changing this throughout the rest of the board, though, we'll just have to live with it. I did edit Simon's post so that it would make sense, however.

Goodbye Simon, I do hope you check in periodically or something, sort of like a surprise guest or something. Have a good life, we will miss you. I also hope that your other interests work well for you.

Unpinned due to the fact that the ownership transition is mostly done.

(Please forgive the bump, I know this happened almost a year ago, but I couldn't find the following info anywhere else on the forum.)

So Simon's been gone awhile, and everyone would probably be shocked if he came back.

So I found this page: http://www.simonwai.com/

So is this what he has been upto now? Or did this page already exist. And is it even the same Simon Wai?

If it is please don't bombard him to come back or something...

He uses Dreamhost as his host, which he did to host SWS2B too, so I'm assuming it's the same guy.

The paypal donation button goes to Canada.

Same guy. Let's find him in an IRC channel and get him to come back. :3
