Woah... Death Egg looks nothing like I expected. Atmospherically, it reminds me of the final zone in Sonic Heroes. Cool lookin'. Thanks as always, HXC!

To me it looks more like Lost Ark from SA2.
And it's nice to hear some of the music from the first few levels. Personally I think Bamboo Transit was probably that render of the jungle level seen in magazine articles.

That Death Egg looks pretty cool. Looks pretty early, too. Awesome stuff.
Though, one of Spindash54's observations caught my eye, and I feel I should ask it in here: In the "Misc" Xtreme music section, there is a track called "PC Demo". What exactly is that about?

I also noticed that the PC Demo track is the same music as Space Queens.

That PC Demo song is probably from the E3 demo that was shown that one year.
Also, HXC, nice job! Keep up the good work!

Wow, just finished listening to the Death Egg and Blue Ocean music. I actually really like a lot of the quick little song blurbs Senn made for the game. They seem really atmospheric. It's kind of a pity that from the screenshots I don't think the actual graphics could have done the sound justice. Then again, we have no idea what a lot of the game looked like, but all the pictures that exist for Red Sands, for instance, don't look like how most of the music feels. Just an observation. It feels really weird to have an entire soundtrack for something that never completely existed.
By the way... hope it's ok to post here first. I didn't see an intro forum so it looked alright. This thread is the main reason I decided to sign-up anyways. Been visiting the site for ages though.

Looking at that large .avi movie, I think the game would have been really difficult to control. I mean look how Sonic zips around in those tiny areas of footing. I'd probably be nervous the whole game if it played like that. It's like Bug on drugs. I wonder if Senn and the team actually had Bug as an inspiration for some of the games design?
Also... check out 1:15 in the movie. Am I the only one who thinks that looks really similar to the tunnel Sonic uses in Sonic Adventure in the temple? The one where the brick keep poping up with flames around them? Looks almost like that was ripped right from this section of Red Sands, only with flaming bricks and all. It's sort of a similar design anyways.

Haven't found my Sonic or Knuckles models yet, but here is Tails for you...
Click on the image below to download a DXF and .MAX model of Tails
The way I set up the skeletons in Imagine 3.0 when modeling the characters allowed me to swap out body parts - and the purpose of this was to re-use animations or build on existing animations between characters (I.e. Create 1 run cycle animation for Sonic then replace Sonic with Knuckles, etc.). Today, this feature is everywhere in 3D apps - but this was not the case back then, so I devised a system to be able to expedite the animation production... Ross Harris later built his own (and much nicer) Sonic model and animated it - so that system I created over a year before that wasn't used.
Anywho - enjoy! :D

Hey guys, check http://www.senntient...cts/xtreme/sxc/ It just got a shitload of awesome updates.
There is now a Red Sands video, along with the previous Jade Gully and Crystal Frost ones. The site has seen a ton of updates art and info wise, and now even features a downloadable file that contians all the sprites, textures, and backgrounds used for Jade Gully. This is an awesome addition; it is literally everything Jade Gully was made of. Man, I never thought I'd be seeing this game in action, much less having actual stuff used for it on my own computer. Great, great stuff. Senn is truly a generous guy (Though I would want my work to be fruitful in some regard as well if I had poured that much work into it), and we should really be greatful to him.
Oh, there is also a video of a Sonic model used around the 32X development phase. There are also interesting storyline and boss descriptions. A particularly interesting one is the story summary for the 32X version:
Seems like it really was to be based around the SatAM cartoon. There are also tons of story concepts up for the different version apparently; Each vastly different. Interesting how much the story and gameplay changed during development. Certaintly one of the most complex and ever changing stories of development as far as Sonic goes.
Anyway, go check it all out right now if you consider yourself a hardcore Sonic fan.

Quote
Summary:
Sonic the Hedgehog battles Dr. Robotnik in a 3-D Virtual Reality (VR) world.
Story:
While Sonic is away checking on a security alarm in a remote part of the Great Forest, his pals (Sally, Bunnie, Tails and Knuckles) have discovered a strange message from within one of Robotnik’s super computers. [Dr. Robotnik is trying to take over a computer VR world (Micro Mobius) and the message is a plea for help from its peaceful inhabitants.] Sonic returns to Knothole to discover that Robotnik has captured his friends and taken them into his VR world. Sonic attempts to save his friends and thwart Robotnik’s plan to “reformat” Micro Mobius.
