You have a Sonic Heroes avatar. :P

I had that image since I joined this forum (which was about a week and a half before Heroes came about and I discovered its suckiness), and besides, the image is fine; the game it originates from sucks IMO.

Yeah, let me be the first to say I had no complaints with the graphics in Heroes, I loved the "Frog Forest" levels' graphics, they seemed Myst-esque to me at some points.

I had fun playing heroes. HAH!

And think about how great Sonic Heroes LOOKED. It LOOKED extremely fun, and LOOKED like a great accomplishment, going back to the old style, with straight up levels, playable by all characters.

The next-gen Sonic game looks pretty good, huh? Haven't heard any complaints.

lol popular opinion

I'll admit Heroes is not the best Sonic game in the world -- That's fairly obvious. However, it really isn't that fucking bad, and you know it. I enjoy playing it in my spare time... Good music, sweet GFX. I have the PS2 version, so I get Japanese voices. w00t.

I'm concerned that everybody played the GCN ver and got stuck with the US voices. That's a very good reason to hate it, along with the nonexistent coherant soryline. =P

The question is when did Sega not care about its fans?

Sonic Heroes. Sonic Battle. Sonic Advance 3. Shadow the Hedgehog.

Need I go on?

WTF? Sonic Heroes is a pretty cool game, Sonic Battle is one of my top three favorite Gameboy games of all time, Sonic Advance 3 was a very nice GBA platformer, and Shadow isn't even frikking OUT yet. See, it's all opinion. Until somebody comes up with a cohesive list of what exactly is so horrible about these games, preferably a list that contains something OTHER than personal opinions such as "the voices are teh suck," I can't help but laugh every time somebody cites them as proof of SEGA's horrible evil.

"What is this 'Spindash' shit? Why do new games always have to be so easy?

It's too short- What happened to the third act?"

No..because Sonic 2 actually had some effort put into it.

The Sonic games today are made for a specific audience. Sonic Heroes was made for younger kids, and Shadow is being made for older kids.

I have yet to see someone who is 30+ get all excited about playing Sonic heroes.

Back in the Genesis days the Sonic games were not made for a specific audience. I knew many parents who loved those Sonic games, and played them constantly. Those games were for all ages.

They weren't marketed as such, however. They were marketed at the older teenager, at the very least. At least that's what I picked up from their old ads.

What, you think these new games took no effort to create, just because you didn't like them? I'm sure they took just as much effort as, if not more than, any of the older Sonic games. Also, all Sonic games were made for kids, it's just that we've grown up more now. You say you have yet to see anyone over thirty getting excited about Heroes, well I've yet to see anyone even just sixteen plus getting excited over Sonic 2. Nostalgia can be blinding.

Both now, and back in 93 I know/knew adults who loved Sonic for the Genesis. These people were already adults when they first played Sonic.

I'm not going to get in an argument about what games are better.

You didn't need to finish the game with all 845239459017 characters in order to see the good ending. You just chose your favorite guy and got his very own good or bad ending.

Gameplay is different, moan moan moan.

It wasn't different at all.

And so on.

Please bring up some valid points, grrr. >=(
