QJimbo, I'm going to ask you again to please stop posting your preservation rants in the Assembler thread. This is twice now. You're not helping anything.

Yeah I do apologize about that and I will no longer post in that thread. I thought you'd sold it but I misunderstood peoples comments.

If you PM the buyer you'd be banned, and thus never get a reply probably. Hum.

WTF? That's just as bad as Sazpaimon's "ban if I don't like you" policy. Whatever admin started this needs to be punched in the mouth repeatedly.

Hey guys, remember that whoever upsets the seller of this thing and makes him regret his decision, will get eternal hate from every single member from the Sonic fan communities.

Just don't bother him with, well, anything that would bother him.

It's just too cold of him to automatically refuse dumping it himself or making copies. It's a simple task that even CDi beta owners can do (even I have a copy of Super Mario's Wacky Worlds). He's not getting a cent out of me [/cliche]. He'd probably make even more money if he sold multiple copies, and the original at a jacked up price. This guy obvious doesn't care about the Sonic scene or Sonic in general.

However, he's a nice guy for making it potentially available to the public!

Why SHOULD he care about you or this community?

Incidentally, Super Mario's Wacky Worlds came from me. I pooled together $1,000 ($500 of which was mine), bought the disc, and put it on the internet. That's just the way things have to be done. And you're wrong about dumping it, it was actually very hard to extract the data, as no PC CD-ROM drive would even read the disc at the time. I had to ship it to someone with professional FBI-level equipment.

That's beside the point, though. My point is that this is the way things work, and if you want that to change, being whiny and demanding and expecting someone to give a shit about you or your community's "needs" when they have a valuable item to sell is pretty much the opposite of "helpful."

I agree with Frank. Why should he have any care what we want? If he cared, he probably would already be part of the scene, and would probably give out copies of the disc.

I don't blame him for refusing to rip or copy the disc prior to the sale. He wants as much money as possible for a single, one of a kind disc that noone else right now can possibly have a copy of to sell. And in order to do that, he has to be able to state to the buyer that he's not retaining any copies.

If we want this, we have to work together and come up with enough money to buy it. Either that or hope that the buyer is nice enough to rip and spread a BIN/CUE.

Remember guys, this isn't a "Sonic scene" event. This is a "prototype scene" event. The prototype scene works under a whole different set of "rules" to the Sonic scene.

I see your guys' point. He has the right to charge us, and I'm sure he went through a lot to obtain this. I'm starting to feel bad for just scanning the Japanese Chaotix manual for nothing (yes, I know that that's on a different level) but it's okay. These thing work thenselfs out in the end.

I'm not going to "officially sanction" this, as I refuse to be involved, but some of the Assembler board members are already pooling some money together in that thread. And if I were to theoretically offer suggestions for pooling community funds together - and I'm not - I might be so inclined as to suggest that the money power of two forums combined is more than that of just one. If you catch the drift that I'm not making.

Current bid is at $2,500.

I'm not responding to you on AIM because you're kind of annoying, and I take no pleasure from our conversations. In fact, I've blocked you.
