Rather than explain all this crap again, I'll just link to the "for sale" thread:
http://www.assembler...read.php?t=6648
Basically, an EXTREMELY anonymous former Sega employee contacted me, based on the Sonic X-Treme article I published at Lost Levels, and asked me to help him sell a Sonic X-Treme disc he managed to take home. It's NOT a full game. In fact, there's not much "game" here at all, it's just the proof of concept shown at Gamer's Day in 1996. But it's real, and it's certainly the only disc I've seen.
Anyway, like I said, check out that thread for more. I'm not trying to barter it off to you guys, I just wanted to make sure the legit Sonic fans were aware of this.

I can also confirm that this is real, we've been chatting for a couple days about is also. It's hard not to get giddy about it.

eh? why?
Anyone can dump a Saturn game. There is no way I could afford "four digits". I just hope that whoever buys it will dump the thing.
Unless we want to pool all the money together. I could get up to $500 in.

Anyone CAN, but there's no guarantee that they WILL, nor that they will do it CORRECTLY (BIN/CUE).

Can anyone set up some kind of paypal donation system? So we can collect money from everyone to contribute to buying this? But I guess that raises the question of who would it go to...

You know, it always bothered me that those screenshots looked completely different to the rest.
I remember reading somewhere that (names forgotten, don't kill me!) Head-Guy went off and pretty much coded his own completely seperate game engine. We know that's the one with the fish-eye, so maybe this was the original?
I don't know about you guys, but I'd much prefer Mr Head-guy's game!!
Not that I'm complaining, mind. It's just that from the look of it, that's nothing but a really simple looking tech-demo.

QJimbo, please leave the Assembler thread alone. I understand you want a backup copy of the game, but this is a sales thead, and there's enough pressure on me handling this already without having to deal with that crap too. I wasn't even supposed to post this here, he wanted it kept low-key. I just wanted the community to know about this too, and not just collectors. Please don't make me regret that decision.
EDIT: Looks like the post was deleted. If that was you, thanks.

I'm all giddy about this, through I'd be more interested in the music used (if there even is any). I'm odd like that.

The buyer can do what they wish with it, people requesting it be dumped will get a warning from now on. That includes posting in threads and pm'ing TheRedEye or any potential buyers. If you want it dumped, *you* buy it!
OOOOOOSNAPS.
All we need to do is buy this thing. Community effort people. Get your spare change, as ANYBODY who wants to play, needs to pay!
Fuck! I had about $200 before I bought my laptop. Damn you ebay!
