I had a dream recently that Google bought Yahoo!, but this is for real, for freaking real. A franchise crossover isn't half as terrifying as an incompetently finished video game, however, so I'll reserve all my criticism for Sonic Runner's poor technical aspects. I'm less bothered by this than I was the inevitable Family Guy/Simpsons crossover.
(Not that I'll get an answer, but is this Ruby's evil scheme?)
Not even close. Freedom Planet is it's own beast and is a far cry from perfectly mimicking the artistry of the original games. It's a good game but not what he's talking about.
Took the words right outta my mouth. Should've pre-empted that.
That game was still enough for me to bail the fanbase.
*bricked*
While Freedom Planet does have the same physics, (Even retaining some speed tricks you can pull in the Advance games.) yeah, totally different in every respect. I wouldn't be opposed to such an idea, even if it might be difficult to make a spiritual Sonic fork, with some extra abilities thrown in to be less obvious. Although Amy's play style shows how easy it is to change how you approach Sonic, while still being Sonic.
If somebody ever makes a serious "mascot" 3D platformer with Metroid Prime's Morph Ball physics, I'll be happier than a kid on a marshmallow bed.
