Were there ever instrumental versions of both credits music created for those games? I love those tunes, but couldn't find versions without vocals. I also tried YouTube, but no remixes.
I also just finished reading
this blog about the Sonic R soundtrack. A nice read about its history and back stories regarding the artists.

Nope. You're My Hero and You're My Number One were never released instrumentally.
Both games have underrated vocal tracks because people found it weird then and now.

I still haven't got round to checking out the soundtrack, I was 15 when it came out, heavily into the Chemical Brothers & The Prodigy so it didn't really appeal to me at the time. I'll have to get round to it, I can see it being a guilty pleasure!

I prefer the tunes versus the ones with the vocals. To me, the vocals are quite bright and cheery...& somewhat cheesy to me, but tolerable. The credits music is something I listen to over and over on occasion due to the great beat.
I wonder if the soundtrack would have been more accepted if it had the vocals of George Benson or similar sounding styles.
