I hope it's similar to the first game, and has no voice acting beyond what the first two games had. The creators of these games are super nice, I hope this is successful.
As I also posted on NeoGAF this is quite awesome news. Just the hope the game calls back to the original and still amazing Genesis titles as opposed to the third game.

I hope it's a new 2d game with a similar design to Panic on Funkotron.
I've played both Genesis games. The first one is okay, but I absolutely adore Panic on Funkotron. I love the character dialogue, complex stage design, hidden areas, excellent controls, wacky gimmicks, crazy humans and the funky music. It's just as fun playing in two-player mode. I've never played the third game.
It's good to see some of the old franchises being brought back. The recent DuckTales Remastered and Castle of Illusion HD games are really nice.
I heard they've been trying to bring the franchise back for awhile, best of luck to them. Both of the TJ&E genesis titles were among my favorites growing up. Never owned the Xbox one, but a friend of mine brought it over one day and I got to try it briefly. The one thing that struck me the most was the mean-spirited humor and shoe-horned "hip-hop culture". I really hope the devs don't repeat that mistake again.
With that outta the way, my most wanted feature for the game is 4-6 player local/online co-op if they go with the first game's concept.
So it's going to be a sequel - providing the KickStarter is a success - to the original. I would have preferred a sequel to Panic on Funkotron, but, oh well it does look interesting. I've never beaten the original so I think I should try and do that.
A KickStarter goal of $400,000 with 29 days left is a tough target.
I guess it's a good idea to start with a PC release and then look at other platforms depending on how well the game is received.
