Rouge? Playable in a 2D platformer for once? This is an awful, unwarranted tease, no thanks to not being able to buy her directly.
If I had an iPod laying around, (A fat chance since I despise them passionately.) I'd honestly give this game a go, make the ads go away, and only hate the DRM in it- then I'd delete the game that instant, because I know I would never get Rouge, let alone Amy. I'd rather boot up Sonic Battle than deal with that crummy roulette wheel.
It looks like EA is shaping up their IPs better than SEGA is right now. No, wait, it's just this game, this greedily packaged mobile mini-game where all the real meat of the content is locked behind your credit card, instead of a boss. They can easily wash this one down by releasing a proper Sonic platformer on the 3DS, though, I'd love another Sonic in the style of Rush.
>Classic Sonic event goes live
>never get close to getting the character egg
>Omega event goes live last week
>land on character egg--Omega unlocked
>Classic Sonic removed today, replaced with Rouge
>use my 50 rings as a fuck it spin
>get Rouge
...
Man, I've never trolled someone this hard. That's just grimy. But, as a silver medal, I got Amy unlocked thanks to Josh, seven fake facebooks, and two other friends.

at least you had a character egg! I think I'm at 20 spins yet have only had two gold and 16 silver eggs (only because normal eggs have been removed)
I only play the game for a few runs at night right now, game is a real slog.
So for those of you experiencing really bad framerate problems and stuttering on Android, do you have Streamlined Mode turned on? What happens when you turn it off?
I've had it turned on for the last two or three updates, and turning it off just now cleared up all of the bad framerate problems and most of the stuttering I had, but Sonic Runners also isn't remembering my preference for the option anymore. Every time I turn off Streamlined Mode, close the game, and then re-open it, Streamlined Mode is turned back on again.
Fortunately, the framerate/stuttering problems seem to have gone away regardless, though I'm skeptical at this being a permanent fix (but it would help if I had corroborating reports that this is a Streamlined Mode bug)
A new event has started on the game today, roughly based around SatSR. The game level is a Desert, and as far as I'm aware you can try your luck at getting Erazor Djinn, Desert Chao and Magic Lamp companions on the roulette (or earn enough event coins to claim some of these as prizes).
I like how they find the time to create a new event and not find the time to fix the glaring stuttering issues that occur either when you get to max speed or you start after getting a second chance (with the latter of those two being the worse).

streamlined mode is a poor mans 30fps cap without locking it down so it would drop frames everywhere, it's terrible on iOS and not worth using.
Speaking of iOS the game still has terrible random pauses and stutter on iphone 5 and it will probably never be fixed, it only appeared once the final release version was launched with the video adverts.

Streamlined mode does not change very much. Game's just a poorly optimized mess.
Desert event music is driving me crazy. I swear I've heard it before.
Also, part of me is a little sad that it's not a SatSR song, but I think quite a few people would be very upset if the level booted up and heard "MAKE BELIEVES REBORN!"
Let the Speed Mend It would have been great, though.

Hopefully someone will get it uploaded to Youtube so I can have a listen. />

You probably have heard it before. It was ripped from the game way back during the soft launch, and people assumed it was the Tropical Coast music (it certainly doesn't sound like it belongs in Desert Ruins).

If Streamlined mode says "on" when I click the option, and I click the on button, does that turn it off? I don't know. It's not like a switch thing that tells me.

Yeah, but I'm saying I was getting absolutely abysmal framerates before. Like basically unplayable. Under 10fps most of the time. Sometimes it would hang for over a full second for no reason at all.
Then I turned Streamlined Mode "off" and it's back to running the way it used to. But there's also very clearly a bug with Streamlined Mode where it's not remembering whether it's on or off.
For me, it's just the game gets REALLY difficult to play at Top Speed because the game cannot handle the speed and drawing the objects so quickly. I get instances even as low as speed level 2 wwhere the game chugs for a few frames and what should be an automated sequence gets de-synced. It's absolutely annoying since it usually results in either a death or losing a chain, which makes doing the score attack (the whole point of the game) very annoying to do.
And yet, nothing is being done or addressed since Android development is consider third-world to iOS.

This isn't difficult to explain. With no offence intended towards iOS users (as everyone is different), the kind of people that tend to buy iPhones are those with money to waste. Even though Android phones make up the majority of the market, they're probably getting significantly more money from iOS releases.
No point trying to sort out something that isn't making much money. I'd imagine they only build an Android version because in Unity it's as easy as clicking a button.
