At 1:12. I can see that maybe it was scrapped because it clashed with the style, but still, that's incredibly well animated and it's a shame that it wasn't used.

The amount of fluidity in the animation is freaking insane. All that clip did was just make me want a 2D Sonic game with HD hand-drawn artwork and sprites a la Rayman Origins/Legends even more.

Wow. That was actually amazing. A good blend of Eastern and Western Sonic, if that makes sense.
Imagining a good minute-long intro looking like this would almost put Production I.G's Sonic Riders intro to shame. (I say 'almost', because I do love the shit out of that Riders intro)
