Doesn't work for me for some reason. At first it gave me a red screen (checksum error), when I checked "autofix checksum" option it just gives me a black screen.
I'm using Gens.

Still would be cool to have reversed controls though but it's just a nitpick since I can change controls in the emulator options.

Awesome work Jester. I'm not even going to ask how you did this, but it's amazing how just a simple change to the game makes it completely different.

(Also I hate to bother you but can I have Felik's edit with backwards music? It's actually pretty cool sounding, IMO.)

Haha this takes me back to 2009 when I was uploading a shit ton of songs from Sonic games in reverse. xD (Okay just a few from the Genesis era of games.) My god I might not be able to get all the chaos emeralds in this hack unless I don't reverse the level. This is probably my favorite hack of yours MJ, I'll be playing this on my Genesis later on. Definitely brighten my day, I've been having a rough one.

you could have just gone "use patch code FFFFFE:0101 and hold your controller upside down" but instead you put the extra effort in creating an alternate version as requested

Also, the drown theme backwards is amazing

I actually managed to get through a special stage while in reverse-mode, and I noticed the get-continue music ISN'T backwards, even though the continue screen music IS. How strange. That aside, though, this is a beautiful hack.

I failed the first special stage in Sonic 1. I don't think I've done that in years. Well done on making a rom hack that fucks with muscle memory to such an extreme.
