This guy selling reproductions doesn't sound much better than the average bootlegger from Asia trying to make a few extra bucks. Unless it came with a case, manual, and maybe some fold out precaution pamphlet written in three different languages for laughs, you might as well just sink in the cash and get a flash cart.
Even the best romhacks aren't exactly in a complete state anyway, like Megamix. The reproduction would become irrelevant come the next release. No way I'd ever waste money on an unfinished game.
From what I read years back on Sonic Retro, it still wouldn't matter if the ASM used official spec sheets of the CPU and other hardware as a reference, which wasn't made open for public use. (Still copyrighted?) I'm not sure what this means for original Mega Drive games being sold and produced these days, unless they're using all their own libraries and drivers from scratch.

I mean... We all know ROM hacking is in this gray area all to its own. The fact companies haven't put the hammer to us more often than usual is surprising. Like what Black Squirrel's been saying, there's no means to enforce and protect hours of work that ultimately is content based on properties other than your own creation. I think the only game that could get away with it would be Sonic Megamix, due to the fact that its undergone so much editing that it hardly even resembles the code it was originally based on, but that would need heavy graphical editing alone just to get rid of the Sonic references.

You can get better selections by looking at other sites, there are many people that do this sort of thing.
For example: http://www.snkcollec...!megadrive/cjqc has Metal Sonic Hyperdrive, {Amy,Knuckles,Mighty,Sally Acorn,Shadow} in Sonic 1, S Factor, Megamix, Sonic 2 Lost Worlds and Classic Heroes... all at €36 a pop.
I bet you can find other hacks in other sites if you look hard enough.

Those appear much better, I noticed a different version of the Sonic Megamix pirate on there too.

Could one of the wiki editor's add this?
Offtopic, Noticed a few things missing from the Wiki such as high res scans of carts/coverts etc or simply missing altogether I.e Korean versions of Sonic 2. I spoke to someone in Korea today who says there also might be a Korean version of Spinball which doesn't appear to be on the Wiki, He said it's been sold but I did ask if he could possibly give photos or scans if possible. He also sold me a version of Sonic Classics and Sonic 3 and Dr Robotnik's Mean bean Machine so I can also scan these once I get them from him. Still offtopic but I have a mint version of the Asian Sonic 3 in the post so can scan this too as the Wiki scans torn up on the edges.

The best thing about these repros is that they've been tested by someone to confirm they work already. All you have to do is buy them and not waste chips burning games and trying them and seeing if they crash. I do think that the label art should reflect what version the hacks are though. This would come in handy later for people if major revisions come out.
I always wanted to see my hacks repro'd. So far the only one I think that would be close is Super Mario Adventures. I had someone ask me to make repros but I think he mistook it for Super Mario Adventure.

No he isn't. He's just pointing out that it's not as simple as selling other people's work.

I'm flattered so many of my hacks have gotten used (wished they'd used different box art though, why SA styled art for characters that have perfectly fitting classic art?).

Mine would probably blind anyone that tried to play it to be honest, it's got some absolutely horrific colour palettes going on, I literally have no idea what past me was even thinking (we're going back about 12 years here) =P Although someone did a Youtube video of it last year for some bizarre reason (I wish the hack would die, but it's literally everywhere on Google).
If I'd ever produced a ROM hack that was anywhere near good enough to get a repro made of it, I think I'd be in two minds about the whole thing. I mean, it's cool that someone likes your work enough to go to all that effort - but not so cool because they don't love you enough to credit you for it I guess.
