The one on the 510 Beta is more assymetrical

It's fairly easy to say the person who made that used the GG Beta palmtree as an inspiration at least.

Wow, I'm still amazed at how quickly the donations came through and how much was given. I just can't thank you all enough for your contributions. Well done!

The S2 GG Auto Demo Prototype was shipped Friday. Expect to see an update Monday, that's when we'll find out if this cartridge is really what we think it is.

I believe there are some 'stretch goals' for some other game gear sonic protos if the donations want to keep rolling in. Namely Tails Adventure and Sonic Labyrinth...
He's right. I'm currently in talks with the same person who's also got a Tails Adventure GG Review Prototype and a Sonic Labyrinth GG 3/25 Prototype.

I'm leaving the "Tails Adventure GG Review Prototype" last (I might not even bother to be honest) just on the basis that it's a "Review" build which is a tall tale sign it's more than likely the final build. I could say all this and it might not be the case, but chances of it having anything prototype-ish would be slim to none.

I've got my sights set on that "Sonic Labyrinth 3/25 Prototype" (which I told the seller I would like to invest on next) because it's dated March 25th (1995 being more than likely the year). The final build was released on October 1995. That's roughly 6-7 months of development. The chances of there being anything prototype-ish would be pretty high. Again, I could say all this and it might not be the case, but that's a chance I'm willing to take. Here's a couple of things I dug up by the way from over the years on Sonic Retro...

Am I the only one who thinks a Labyrinth proto could be interesting? It seems like there's always been rumblings about Labyrinth being an attempted 'port' of Sonic 3D that couldn't make the cut on the hardware, but maybe I'm out of the loop and those have no credence. If possible though, it could be interesting to see play out.

Also, the Sonic Labyrinth prototype might be the version with the alternate "Sonic Labylinth" title screen.
The only magazine scans we have of Sonic Labyrinth is this review article that was written after it's release. The fact that there's very little information regarding it's development makes the prototype quite mysterious. Despite all the mixed opinions people have about Sonic Labyrinth, I think this would be a very interesting one to research up on.

Look at the palmtrees!

I don't ever remember seeing this before, though I've see SO many proto shots in my time. Where's this sourced from!?

I can't find any news or preview articles for Sonic Labyrinth, however here's a couple more reviews. Although both were probably reviewed close to release.

Negotiations are being made but yes, I am definitely taking donations for Sonic Labyrinth. Any contributions will help greatly =)

Master Emerald mentioned about the dumping equipment needed for these prototypes. I've bought some stuff this week that I'll be putting together to see if that works. Failing that, we've got someone here (who contacted me after buying the stuff) who can do it =P

Consoles+ Issue #11

These are indeed mock ups. Look at how Sonic is centered, he loses rings and dies at the same time(?). The time is all the same on every mock up picture and where the ring counter should be, it's a time counter. Robotnik being in the same place as the boss, though it looks odd, he does show up in the same area as the boss in (Sonic 2 SMS/GG final's) Underground Zone. Finally, Sonic's life icon isn't the same.

The chances of seeing those images as they are shown in action are slim to none. But one things for certain based off all the prototype screenshots we've seen of Sonic 2 SMS/GG; Green Hills, Sky High and Underground must have been one of first few levels SEGA worked on.

I love how that Sega Pro review was already complaining about Sonic cash in's in 1995. Boy if only they knew what the future had in store for Sonic.

Well, the negotiations have been made. The seller will happily sell the Sonic Labyrinth 3/25 Prototype for $600 + $50 shipping. The original price for the prototype would have been more. The shipping is even at a discount because I paid a lot to have the Sonic 2 GG Auto Demo Prototype shipped out :)

He's even happy to sell me the Tails Adventure Review Prototype for $600 including shipping (again, the original price would have been more) if I buy both prototypes in one transaction. Obviously the one we've got our sights set on is that Sonic Labyrinth 3/25 Prototype.

Due to the overflow of donations from when we were trying to get the Sonic 2 GG Auto Demo Prototype, we've actually made $300 in donations already for the Sonic Labyrinth 3/25 Prototype. We're half ways there folks! Well done! All we need now is $350 in donations. Again, any contributions will be greatly appreciated.

I'm glad my $5 helped, can't wait to see the Sonic Labyrinth proto as well since I've been hacking that here and there lately... :v: I've never actually played Tails Adventure before though but I look forward to seeing the review prototype. :) Also I actually enjoy Sonic Labyrinth, guess I'm one of the few who does though. xP
