Hey have any US retro members got this game? If so could any of you perhaps post pictures of the disc & booklet/inlay please?

Just wanna see more detail than what currently seems to be available.

Purchased a copy from ebay and wanna compare it to others just for piece of mind that it is a legitimate one :v:

Thanks

I used to have two; gave one to a friend and kept the other one. I may still be able to find the disc buried somewhere at my parents house, but I'm afraid the box and documentation are long gone by now, sorry.

I can say with certainty though that my copy had Sonic and Tails' renders from the Sonic R boxart and title screen on both the box and the cd. Got it from either KB Toys or Office Max, around 2000 or 2001. Sorry I couldn't be more help :(

If you'd asked me a few months ago, I could've at least posted the disc. Alas, it is now a little bit destroyed and thrown away.

I still edit: MIGHT STILL have the decrypted rom images from it though. They still don't all match the no-intro cartridge dumps.

I remember having this... unfortunately it's been all but lost from me too.

That said, it didn't even come in its own box... I got it in this:

I bought a copy and it arrived yesterday, it was sealed/new...

...no big box though, Just CD in jewel case, with an inlay - which is like a 2 page booklet. Also has the back inlay. The disc/inlay look similar to the ones on the segaretro wiki.

But because it doesn't have the big box, I am trying to determine whether or not it is an original release version or a later release, or even a legitimate version.

I know the game was re-distributed in various compilation packages as in the one above.

Thanks for the help so far guys, appreciated.

Got mine bundled with the first Sega Smash Pack (which had that annoying error of having each game rendered unable to play after some point in time) on one disc-one of eight discs included in the Sega PC Mega Pack. I still have the disc for it somewhere, but the box all of the discs came in for that park are all gone now, methinks.

Hah, that's the version I bought in New York in 2002. God knows where that box is now, though.

Sonic Action 4 Pack right pissed me off. The included copy of Sonic R didn't have music. I assume it was supposed to be red book audio, but there were no tracks anywhere to be found on the disc aside from the data track.

Scans of what dude?

Scans of everything. Sega Retro is always after high quality scans of anything Sega-related. Boxes, discs, manuals, garbage, whatever, all for preservation purposes.

In the case of this game we have incomplete, low quality placeholders sourced from Google Images. Same with Sonic & Garfield Pack. Same with Sonic Action 4 Pack (although that's on Sonic Retro - but scans are wanted there too!).

Okay, I'll see if I can sort something out, I don't have a great scanner though I don't think (it is quite old). Will give it a shot when I get chance and see what comes out. Can take photos if necessary

EDIT: Just realised that I was meant to take some photos of some of my arcade shit and post those too, I believe Meat Miracle requested them like 6months ago. I'll get on that too.

Okay our scanner is pretty shit...so I took a lot of photos on my iPhone, dunno if they will be any use, but I'll upload them, and see what you think. If they are no good they I aren't sure what to do really.

EDIT: here is a link...

Let me know if those are any use.

Not to get too far off topic but I've always been curious about this. Especially since my brother had a separate copy of Sonic R which DID have all the music. Adolescent me thought that R simply didn't have music... as I never knew of any other version, nor was I smart enough to look at the time. Needless to say I was stunned to learn of the tracks, and also couldn't find any trace of music in my game.

I wonder why this is?
