A webshow where they'll show news, behind the scenes stuff, interviews etc. Seems like it could be neat.

World's least passionate announcer though. I'm actually more shocked than anything else that this has come from SoE - I thought they were largely killing the PRingles over there?

It appears as though the pilot episode has just been uploaded: http://segabits.com/...s-sega-central/
I'll probably give it a shot later tonight when I settle down to watch some TV. I think this Sega Central thing is a cool idea but I honestly don't think Sega is making enough games anymore at a fast enough rate for the shows to be interesting. Something like this would have been legendary circa 2002 or 2003 when Sega was pumping out amazing games every month but now they're down to something like four core franchises so what realistically could they show in these episodes that would be exciting? I'll reserve judgment until I've actually watched the episode though. I suppose this could still be cool.
Also can't find a thread on NeoGAF for this. Was it posted there?

Well it certainly makes me reminisce about the past...
... because it feels like something that might have aired on CITV in the mid-90s. Back when the brand actually meant something and it was very difficult to get information on the latest games.
but ditto the "they don't make enough games to support this" though. Nothing quite says "shovelware" like the yearly Football Managers, and there's totally not a disconnect between PC strategy game enthusiasts and Sega fans of the 90s.

There's a difference between "shovelware" and "games that you don't like". Seeing how incredibly popular Football Manager is and how well received it is, I doubt that it's the former. And we're talking about SEGA Europe here, they primarily make PC strategy games and Football Manager.
Anyway, seems like this is mostly just SEGA Europe trying to do more PR. I'm kinda interested in Alien: Isolation, but they didn't really show anything new of it here aside from some impressions from selected fans. I did find the part about them promoting indie stuff interesting, but for the rest it wasn't really that interesting to me. Though I guess the factoids really are things a lot of people probably don't know about, so there's that at least.
As for the "not enough games to support this" thing. Remember that this isn't just news and that it isn't necessarily something they'll do on a regular basis.
Basically: I think this show has potential, it's just that the stuff covered in this episode isn't really of interest to a lot of members here.

It's shovelware in the sense that as soon as the year is up, you've no chance of selling the game. It's endemic of all sports games released on an annual basis, but Football Manager is worse because it was fairly niche to begin with (at least, compared to FIFA) and isn't known to make radical changes to the formula as we jump ahead in a console generation.
Unless there's a secret demand for Football Manager 2007 that I don't know about of course!

Nah, we've still got a few different contacts. Hey, someone's got to tell us about all the [excellent - Ed.] free-to-play mobile [classics - Ed.] they're promoting!
