I'd love to know if there's been any talk of a future Crazy Taxi for consoles or even a rerelease of Crazy Taxi 3. Obvious questions but someone's gotta ask.

I know I've already asked this elsewhere, but I'd really be interested in what his opinion was on how badly Nintendo shafted Sega during the trial by deliberately badly editing the Night Trap footage to make the game look worse than it was. And that he wasn't allowed by the hearing to meaningfully refute this.

What?
I've never heard of Nintendo being involved with Night Trap shenanigans.

Bolded emphasis mine. There was ZERO reason for Nintendo touching the Night Trap footage, it wasn't on any of their platforms and it was obviously in their favour to make Sega look worse than they actually were.

There is a prevalent conspiracy theory that Nintendo purposefully started it all, motivated by a need to get back some of the market share they had lost to Sega. There's a lot of evidence to support this; Sega HAD taken a large market share from Nintendo and continued to enjoy runaway sales; Sega's version of Mortal Kombat WAS more popular because it has not been censored; Nintendo WOULD produce the highly edited videos of Night Trap used by Congress and videos comparing their version of Mortal Kombat to Sega's; Sega WAS outright attacked by Nintendo's Howard Lincoln and Liebermann during the hearings and Sega DID suffer the most, especially their Sega CD, in the months that followed. But there is no proof. Liebermann claims to have found out about Mortal Kombat from his Chief of Staff.

I liked the fmv article, Nik, but the 'Did you know' box irked me, cos it turned out I did know them... after reading the article.
Also, no mention of Time Gal Reiko being the first ever human female protagonist in a video game neither. For shame.

That's because it isn't true.
Even in slightly Sonic related terms, Yuji Naka's first game Girl's Garden, fits that quota and that was released in 1984.

Could've sworn the original arcade release was earlier, but apparently not.

Cheers, it's been one of my favourites. Tom Zito was a great interviewee and I got to correct a couple of myths. Did You Know is perhaps the weakest part of the Bluffer's Guide template in that it is literally the tl;dr factoid box - it's in there for now, but I wouldn't imagine that it'd stay when we next review the feature template.
We have 32X and Saturn features coming up in 133 and 134, with interviewees including Tom Kalinske.

Issue 134 is out today! It has a 12 page Saturn cover feature written by yours truly, including a two page Q&A with Tom Kalinske about the console's development, its botched American launch and his departure from Sega, plus a spread on essential imports. Also, if you've ever wondered why the Saturn version of Doom is so shit, your answer's in here. Cheers to Sega Retro for permission to use some images for a spread!
Buy it physically here, or buy it digitally here.

There better not be any import saturn games that I don't already own, or I'll have to do something about it (like buy them).
Unless it includes Hyper Duel - can't afford Hyper Duel.
The Batman feature better have Sunsoft's Batman on game boy too.
