Are the US or EU getting physical releases? Can't find anything about it, maybe I'm just shit at finding these things out though. :v:

So... Is there any way somebody can post this album to Mega or something? 4Shared's download speed are cancer without shelling out $50 for decent speeds. Nevermind. Didn't realize it was on iTunes now. Trash this, mods.

Wound up only keeping a few tracks from the set... five of them at most. Thinking about it now, this is a really underwhelming soundtrack. I don't think it helps that Ohtani was almost by himself, aside from a few Eguchi tracks and one Hataya.

Wonder where the rest of the Sega Sound Team buggered off to. Makes me miss Nanba, Tokoi, and the rest.

Seems Ohtani seemed to have finalised the tracks, but other people did help compose - Yutaka Minobe, Mariko Namba, Takeshi Watanabe and Takahito Eguichi.

So yeah, check the Composer part of the ID3 tags, don't credit Ohtani for everything, it's like when people say that Jun Senoue did everything on Sonic 3D Blast's Mega Drive soundtrack when he didn't.

I wish they'd post to Amazon as well.

I could potentially upload everything to MEGA, but it'll take a while.

He says he did everything except the cutscenes.

Thank you so much! I have composed the music except cutscene.

They didn't credit the original composers for the remixes though (like Sonic Heroes theme).

Yeah it was me who got the reply from Ohtani concerning that. Good job anyway.

Edit: dropping more food for thought.

1. MP3packer is able to losslessly recompress CBR files into VBR, because quite a lot of bits are redundant.
2. Latest LAME development introduces a new Constraint VBR mode which is possible to surpass CBR 320 in terms of quality.

So Ashram I suggest you stop using CBR 320 and go for a even better setting from now on.

Looks like we got a US release after all. Digital only, mind you, but it's still an option.

Or I can continue to do what I'm doing because I'd like to think that by not giving the lossless people what they want, they'll be tempted to go buy the album themselves and do it.

It's largely why Retro stopped putting up the soundtracks Ashram releases. It's become easier to get the highest quality the music comes in now since the albums are being released digitally. That means the excuse of "WELL, SEGA DOESN'T RELEASE THE ALBUMS HERE" is bunk. Although, I do wish they'd branch out from iTunes.

I'd kill for limited edition releases of the soundtracks. They have the Sonic Merchandise stores in North America and Europe. Surely they could just import a few of Japanese copies and sell them. That's exactly what they did with the Nendoroid afterall.

It is also on Amazon. But I haven't a clue how high quality the tracks are on that end.
