Wait you have to sign into a social network to download? Am I missing something? :v:/>

EDIT: I'm a retard I didn't realize I didn't have my basic account logged in. Many thanks for this. Can we buy the soundtrack anywhere though or was this Japan only?

It's basically Japan only, unless Sega decides to put the soundtrack up on iTunes like Sonic Colors. Only time will tell.

I just wonder why some of them are like this. Did they just run out of ideas on what to name the songs, or did they do it so that you know everything after that act will be from that area?

Wound up only keeping a few tracks from the set... five of them at most. Thinking about it now, this is a really underwhelming soundtrack. I don't think it helps that Ohtani was almost by himself, aside from a few Eguchi tracks and one Hataya.

Wonder where the rest of the Sega Sound Team buggered off to. Makes me miss Nanba, Tokoi, and the rest.

Prob the 2014 Sonic game which I hope is infinitely better than this one. This soundtrack was really underwhelming for me, perhaps due to the... marioness of it

If the 2014 Sonic game is a sequel to Lost World and not another spinoff, I'm sure it'll be much more Sonic-y (if they still do the whole seperate Colors Team and Generations Team thing they have going).
I have a bad feeling it'll be another All Stars Racing, which is still great because Transformed was awesome and had awesome music!

This is based off nothing, but I'm guessing in order to give each console Sonic at least a 3 year development cycle we'll see the new All Stars Racing in 2015. Plus the 2014 game would not likely be a direct sequel to Lost World, in fact Lost World is probably the spin off title. I wouldn't be surprised if 2014 was back to the boost honestly.

I have a hard time believing they'd reinvent Sonic mechanics on this scale for one game. Even Secret Rings got a sequel (Black Knight is more or less the same control style, at least). I'm not really sure what 2014 has in store for Sonic, but I doubt it's a platforming title, let alone a main series game. Sumo seems to be content with Transformed one PC for the time being, so I don't think they are involved. I think Sonic may not even get a non-mobile game in 2014, to be honest.

Yes, Secret Rings did get a sequel... about 2 or 3 years later. I'm not saying this game is a one off, I'm saying that this isn't the Sega of the early 90s or even the early 2000s anymore. We don't get direct sequels one year later. Sega has likely made a plan for how to go about Sonic console releases, since Sonic is basically the only console game to see the light of day in the West from Sega, that involves a yearly release. A 3 team, 3 year development cycle would make sense, as it would give them a game a year with enough time to develop each one. Sega entered this 3 game deal with Nintendo and we already have 2 of them. There is a 2014 Sonic, although we don't know what that is yet. But given that Lost World just came out I highly doubt it's even a spiritual sequel to that game. Hell Lost World is basically a sequel to Colors, and that came out 3 years ago. Same goes for Racing Transformed, it's prequel was also 3 years before. 2014 will be 3 years after Generations. I think we'll either get a sequel similar to that game, or something completely different.

Actually now that I think about it, it might not even be a good idea to go by the Colors Team and Generations Team thing.
It's pretty obvious that those two games were in a way started at the same time, as in Colors Wii was totally meant to be a Wii version of Generations.
They DID say somewhere I think that they tried porting Generations to the Wii but failed, and after that it's obvious that they quickly turned it into a new game, Sonic Colors, handing off development to the Storybook team so the actual Sonic Team could work on Generations.
It would explain all the classic badniks and some of the more rushed levels in Colors anyways.

Anyways, back to the soundtrack, I'm starting to discover some tracks I haven't heard before. The Sky Road Bonus Stage sounds like...well it's nothing I expected to hear in a Sonic game. Very lovely theme though.
This is the most outlandish Sonic soundtrack yet, I think.

Yeah, this game's soundtrack certainly sounds less like something I would expect out of a Sonic game. That doesn't stop it from sounding fantastic though. I can't really think of many Wave Master soundtracks that I've disliked, except Secret Rings (well, I didn't find it memorable at least. I don't think I'd call it flat out bad) .

Anyways, thanks Ashram. I always look very forward to your rips.

Ashy, buddy, you helped me rebuild my collection and now you bring me more. thanks allot man.

So, are their any missing or changed tracks from the game like in Colors? Generations seemed to do a good job of making a solid soundtrack that wasn't really missing anything except those stage remixes.

I didn't get to try the 2 player mode before lending a friend my Wii U, so I don't know if that had any weird jingles that didn't make the cut, but it seems like everything is here. Can't think of anything that is missing. Which is nice.

Now to wait on my copy to ship. :(

The only way we found out about unused jingles in Colors was from a direct rip from the game. Until we can rip right off the game, we won't know.

Well yeah I know we really won't know what this game is hiding until Wii-U hacking is cracked. but from what everybody hears, does anything that we know of been changed or didn't make it?

And if so, maybe the 3DS version will help fill that gap.
