I'm going to necro this thread out of interest.

Now the guy who did the blue Game Gear mod is trying to diffuse the light, but he's not doing a very good job.

This is how you do it. The modder was trying to use a clear plastic straw between the LEDs to try to diffuse the light, but it didn't work for two reasons; 1. Clear plastic is a horrible light diffuser, and 2. a straw would diffuse light only around the straw itself, that's why phones use flat films instead of, you know, beverage straws. I'd buy ".007 film, just because it disperses point light the best.

Hmm, perhaps we should have a 'Console Hard Modification' thread showing off things like this or other tidbits that people might find interesting to do. I'm working on a Game Gear TV Console with an old Game Gear and wouldn't mind some tidbits to add to it, like maybe the logo lighting up with Lobotomy's linked LED Light diffusing plastic, which Console Hard Mod thread would be useful in providing.

We should probably either do one for each major system then a blanket general one for things like the Game Gear and Game Boy and such.
