I'm really enjoying this so far. Even more than that I'm loving the amount of variety there is in Pokemon choice early on. Just beat Brock and dealt with the museum issue and moving onwards. Good stuff!

EDIT: Messed around in it a bit more, mainly grinding to the right of Pewter. Can't believe I forgot to mention the graphical work that's been done, it looks great. I've also taken a look through your PokeCommunity thread to catch more insight on what you're planning to do and I think it's exciting. Can't wait until the full release is out.

This isn't complete yet.

As for the patching problem, forget IPS, I noticed here on Sonic Retro that a lot of your guys's Sonic hacks just post the plain ROM. Am I aloud to post my ROM file here?

Oh. O: I assumed it was complete while reading through the comments, oops.

And it would be nice if you could post the whole ROM image. I usually have problems IPS patching a game, and have to look around the Internet for a pre-patched copy. I think quite a few sites post the whole thing too, besides translations hacks, and the Parallel Worlds hack of A Link to the Past.

If you use Visual Boy Advance, you can just name the IPS patch the exact same file name as your Fire Red ROM, and when you go to open the ROM it'll just automatically patch it together if both files are in the same folder. That's how I did it at least.

Holy- I wish had known that sooner, sounds a lot easier than manual patching. I'm going to try that later and see what happens; kinda hoping the Linux native version of VBA-M didn't cut that feature out, it axed a lot of advanced functions that are in the Windows version.

I will upload the ROM soon, however I am working on a Beta 1.1 release that's just mostly bugfixes, and so that's what I'll release.

Okay, turns out I didn't have a clean image the whole time, so no wonder that wasn't working. :specialed: I'm really amazed by how much deeper this hack's story feels already, it's giving me the same vibes Pokemon Black did with the seriousness.

And that's interesting to know. Looking forward to the fixes on the off chance I bump into any of them while playing the rest of the current release.

New update! As promised, this is just the ROM file alone, so no patching necessary.

http://www.mediafire...4sg66s4ghh3f41j

This is Beta 1.1.
This is just a bugfix release.

These bugs have been fixed:
*Issues when teleporting to the wrong place has been fixed
*After using Disable, glitchy text won't appear anymore
*Movement permission error in Viridian Forest fixed
*The guy who got robbed in Cerulean now has correct dialogue after you beat the Rocket Grunt
*The cut tree by the Hiker on Route 10 no longer freezes the game
*Rocket Grunt script on Nugget Bridge no longer repeats (Note: You will have to fight him one more time if you already fought him, because I changed the variable that the script uses in order for it to work)

These adjustments have been made:
*TM03 has been changed back to Water Pulse
*Misty's Pokémon now use Water Pulse instead of Scald, so her Starmie isn't super OP anymore
*The TM lady in the Underground Market now sells Sandstorm
*Brain Freeze now has a new animation
*A couple typos fixed
*New Bicycle music, a remix made by me, with inspiration from Pokémon Origins
*The Charmander family now learns Dragonbreath instead of Draco Bullet/Dragon Rage
*Eevee can now evolve into Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Glaceon, all of which are obtainable in this release (You can get your stone items from the Stone Merchant in the Underground Market after you've beaten Lt. Surge. The egg that the old lady gives you in the Underground Path will hatch into an Eevee)

I haven't taken it for a spin yet but I definitely plan to when my controller mount for my phone comes in. Any day now, hopefully. I'm pretty excited to play this.

Last night, I got as far as beating Pewter City Gym, and scaring off Team Rocket afterwards. (Already have a Wartortle at lv20, those extra battles really help.) This is already far more engaging than the original game, I'm loving it a lot and look forward to playing it more tonight. It feels like a legit special edition, Chaos Rush.

The more I see of this, the more excited I get. I'm still waiting for the final version before I play it, but this looks like great work so far.

Please give me your feedback when you try it out! One of my favorite things about posting this hack online is reading everyone's reactions.

Thank you! I hope that you're training more than just your Wartortle, because I specifically want the boss characters to be +1-2 levels above your team, assuming you're training a team.

Why wait until the final version? You can use the same save file for future releases. And it could take awhile for the final version to come out.

Because if I get to the current end point and it takes a while, I'll have trouble continuing where I left off. I'm not good at continuing JRPGs (or really any game that doesn't have individual, distinct stages) after long periods of time without getting confused and lost. I'd rather wait so I can play the whole thing in one go.
