I've never played a Guilty Gear game before, but this game looks incredible. Especially visually. I know Arc System Works is known for their good looking fighting games, but damn. Don't think I've ever seen a 3D game that's supposed to look 2D actually look 2D before
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Most impressive looking fighting game yet?

Does Arc have some relation with SEGA I didn't know of?
SEGA owned the Guilty Gear license for a while and didn't really do anything with it. Arc supposedly got it back a couple of years ago, but since then SEGA has still been involved with them. The latest revision of Guilty Gear XX ran on RingEdge 2, I guess this game is running on it as well.

This is officially the first cel-shaded game I've seen that ACTUALLY looks like the cartoon style it is supposed to emulate.
I suspected this was in 3d because of the Unreal Engine logo, but if they don't circle around the characters in real-time, I wouldn't have been able to tell that it is in fact NOT using sprites. Fuck. I guess it's because they actually made the animations choppy like sprites.
Only problem now is that I don't give any shit about Guilty Gear; if they do Darkstalkers 4 with this type of look and then we are cooking.

My god, thats pretty damn amazing looking.
Until the 360 spin I honestly thought they were HD sprites. Can we have Street Fighter V like this?

To more adequately answer the Seg question: pretty much every Guilty Gear arcade game has run on Sega-made arcade hardware, dating back to Guilty Gear X, which was a partnership with Sammy and ran on the NAOMI. IIRC there were some publishing oddities for the Sammy-partnered games around the time Sega and Sammy merged, and then there was that one version of XX that was published by Sega on the PS2; though it appears that by now Arc System Works may be publishing home games itself.
This is also an ALL.Net P-ras Multi (another Sega thing) game, hm...

Glad it's going back to being a fighter after whatever the heck was up with Guilty Gear 2: Overture.
And those "3D" Graphics.... wow, I'd love to see more games looking like that! Maybe Capcom should make Street Fighter Alpha 4 or new Darkstalkers in that style. :P

I could barely even tell that the graphics were 3D. I want to see more games like this.

Looks great! Never played one of these games before.
Also, that sounds like Nickelback.

I understand what he is talking about since Chad Kroeger does that kind of voice in some of his music, but it's not like other artists don't. The voice reminded me more of Fuel by Metallica or any number of Rob Zombie songs off the top of my head.
