So I recently picked up another monitor to set up a dual screen environment for my main desktop. Unfortunately I also bought the wrong kind of cable as it only takes in from HDMI then out to VGA. My graphics card has a DVI port (in use), a HDMI and a DisplayPort which is why I'm needing something.
Has anyone got a similar setup or knows what exactly I need to get this up and running?

DisplayPort nor HDMI carry any analog signals. DVI is the only one capable of outputting an analog signal. Digital to analog conversion is gonna be very expensive (more than a new monitor).
Get VGA out of the DVI and use HDMI to DVI cable for the other output.

Unfortunately the monitor being used by the DVI is also a VGA and is using a converter. I'll assume I'm not going to get this as a secondary screen, I guess I can use it elsewhere then...
