I would love to but I can't, I really haven't got the money to give and definitely not in that 4 day limit. I wish the best of luck for Retro as this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get such rare official hardware.

EDIT:

OMG current bid is $7,600. I have a felling the final bid is going to go well beyond that.

Bidding history of bids placed on item 0000752122, if any, in the order they were placed.

$7600.00 (1) 4/20/2013 5:48:58 PM EDT xderekrx (-- )
$7500.00 (1) 4/20/2013 5:44:53 PM EDT socalmike (751 )
$50.00 (1) 4/20/2013 5:23:03 PM EDT hamburgerman (1 )

I'm at a loss of words for this bidding history.

This was out of reach the minute it went up for public auction

But I guess on the plus side, we got some more photos. Last week we didn't even know this thing existed, so that's progress I guess

No kidding. O_O Then again there are only two of these in existence...

No doubt. I reckon his reserve is at least $10,000.

Damn, makes a RingEdge look cheap.

Hamburgerman's bid got totally blown away there :v:

Wasn't expecting it to make that much, I thought maybe 3-4,000 considering the lid doesn't even stay shut. Guess I was wrong!

The way that bidding has gone, I wouldn't be surprised if it sailed way past $10k. 2 people with serious bids so far, cue mental bidding war in the final minutes.

Kinda silly, I mean really, isn't it just a Saturn with a built in modem? There is nothing amazing or new about this device, I mean someone could open it and just find the same Saturn board just with the modem poorly soldered into it?

Official SEGA hardware prototype. Only two in existance.

Should cost a bit more than a regular Saturn + modem.

To be honest I'm betting it'll go for $15-18,000. If the lid was working I'd bet it'd easily hit $20,000.

Of course though when I say those prices I might be kind of low balling it. It's a sellers market now and people are paying more for things than normal so it could potentially be double what I said. I expected the complete copy of Air Raid that showed up to only hit $20k and it ended up selling for $33k so it's hard to say. Just depends how deep the pockets are for people right now.

The lid is likely some little missing or broken piece of plastic that can be easily substituted, maybe even from a production unit. Giving that 5000$ value is inane.

Maybe if there was something in there that is different or new... Looks like a normal Saturn to me. Even if there is only 2, it seems like a lot of money to waste just to say "Look I have this thing no-one else has!"
