Sonic 1 and 2 getting the Sonic CD treatment by Taxman and Stealth

I let it do its stuff in the background for a while, until it required my attention... It took some more time than I thought it would, but ended up getting installed flawlessly.

 

Can Tails carry Tails while flying?

 

I let it sit for 3 hours now on my brothers computer and its still saying "downloading app runtime" with zero progress. this thing is stalled!

 

I tried to do this and it doesn't work for me. I get a game over while playing Sonic + Tails, start a new game as Knuckles, and I still am playing as Sonic + Tails. :/

 

I know it's old news, but Tails carrying Sonic is awesome. One button gameplay maintained, and they made Sonic+Tails gameplay unique. Stealth and Taxman are goddamned geniuses.

 

The SBZ 3 part I knew... Going past a certain x-coordinate triggers the game to change its level boundary code. Instead of the bottom boundary killing you, it sends you to the next stage. Modding this a bit, I could manage to get it to do that anywhere in the level (Original, NOT iOS... don't get your hopes up)

BUT the Eggman thing I had no idea. I assume it's because Eggman is supposed to stopwhen the switch is triggered... Still fucking hilarious.

 

Same here, but then I figured out how to do it.

1. Start a no-save game as Sonic and Tails
2. Get a Game Over
3. Load an existing file as Tails or Knuckles
4. Enjoy!

If you start a new no-save it'll be stuck on Sonic and Tails mode.

Ooooh it gets better! I took this picture in a new save file- I.e, not in no save mode! Knuckles & Tails, S2&S3 items! :D The 7th Emerald should be enabled too!

 
Basically it's performed in the exact same way as previously mentioned, except you do the level select and what have you as Sonic & Tails before you Game over. I personally don't want to see this bug fixed. It'd function really nice as an extra hidden bonus if the sprite errors were ammended but the exploit overall left in place.

 

Of course Knuckles can run through breakable walls. Awesome. I know it's probably not a big deal to most, but I think Sega/non-fans could have easily forgotten to add in that feature of Knuckles.

 

My 9-year-old brother would've noticed. He noticed Knuckles' socks in Sky Sanctuary, when I didn't.

I've noticed that kids as a whole tend to be much better at catching these small details than anyone else.

 

Child team to head up new Sonic Team division called Sonic Team Kids confirmed.

 

The knuckles and tails trick sounds like fun, will give it a go tonight.

 

That 7th special stage is a load of shit. Though I guess since you can't really access it through normal means I guess that was the point. Its still really hard though.

 

Is there a video of the seventh Special Stage yet? I want to see these shenanigans.

 

Knuckles & Tails is fun to run through the game with, you can fly where you want, glide and climb and all that.

Interesting thing for tails when in this glitched partner mode is tails can run through breakable walls like knuckles can, lol.

 

This in #24 in the top paid apps on Google play. Just a few days ago it was sixty-something.

 

Hopefully it keeps climbing that list so we can get a console release.

 

I'd rather all the bugs get fixed first (that Knuckles-credits glitch is particularly glaring).

 

Just saw this German blog's review and one of the screens strangely comes from a Pre-GDC build. If you ever wanted to know what my original DPad design was like here it is :P

 

Wicked. Why did you changed it? Its not like the actual gaming experience would change but love the Old Genesis controller look.
