So I always wondered why Nakamura's mixtape version of Sonic 2 soundtrack was much slower, so I went into audacity and checked the BPM of Masa's version and it seemed to be 1/8 slower than the Genesis's version. Here's a sample of how will it sound if I changed the tempo to match the Genesis version.

As you guys can see It sounds more similar to the genesis version.

Predominant theory is because it allowed the sound devs to better translate the songs. We kinda already had this conversation like... A year ago was it? I mean fuck we were fixing the tempos to each of the songs after release...

Edit: Nvm it seems all the mixtapes are like that.
