Since I don't think this will get any attention unless it has its own topic..
If anyone remembers, hidden-palace was collecting funds for a TJ&E2 proto that apparently was "different from released version" a few years back. The goal was met, but DreamTR then found out he apparently sold it off previously. Luckily, he kept me in mind as he recently found the cartridge again, which had just been lost among his piles of protos this whole time.
Unfortunately it's not an early prototype of the "original" TJ&E2 that was supposed to be more like the first game, but it is an earlier version of the released one. The header shows a date of August 91 and looks to be taken from the first game, so I have no idea how early it is. I would assume 4 months and up.

Codes
ffBA87:0000 - Use this to automatically have all earthlings. There's one level towards the end that's impossible to beat due to one of the earthlings being stuck underground or somewhere inaccessible, so you need this to go forward.
ff8003:000x - replace x with hex numbers up to D to access the different levels.
Differences include
-The titlescreen has no press start and automatically goes to a text screen asking you to press buttons to choose your player.
-No intro
-Level order and layouts are different, including different art sets being used. Not new graphics, but rather I.e a level in the final that had a space background might instead be a snow level here.
-The Funkapotamus is instead the Funkapuss
-Random glitches
-Secret paths haven't been implemented yet, possibly the idea of collecting Lamont's items isn't here.
-Missing and different sound effects, including a couple different voices.
-One of the songs in the game has a different mix. I forget what the title is.
Fun fact, this apparently came from Gamefan magazines archives.
